Hello,
I ordered two tubes of Tretinoin Cream (.05%) from an overseas pharmacy.
I just wrote them a long email telling Them They sent me the Gel instead!!!
I don't know what to expect from these people.
My skin is fair on the dry side. Could I use the Gel every other day or so, or daily? (if it comes to this)...I've only Always used the cream.
Thanks |

If you have a moisturizer on hand, you can try mixing this up with the tretinoin gel in your palm before you put it on your face. Might help dilute the strength of the gel and make it easier for you to tolerate.
If you are desperate enough. |

I would definitely go easy on the gel. It is harsh and very drying. You can definitely try to mix it, but I never had luck mixing anything with it, as it likes to gum up! |

I forgot to add. (Thanks rileygirl for catching that! )I have tried the mixing method only with tretinoin cream.
Or you could try putting on a thin layer of moisturizer first before doing the tretinoin gel. That should help buffer.
Or do short contact therapy. Leave it on for some time (not the whole night) then wash it off and do moisturizer.
Good luck! |

I find the gel much more drying than the cream -but I do like to use both. I tend to use the gel more on my forehead because I get Sebaceous Hyperplasia there. If my skin on the rest of my face becomes too dry, I'll just use the gel less often. So I tend to alternate and switch between both depending on how my skin feels.
You could also try applying the gel over a moisturiser or oil. |

Since you have the gel I'd rotate it in every third night or just use it on the oily areas (if you have any!). Or give to an oily friend - they'll love ya.
I use both but my skin is definitely oily, especially in summer weather.
BTW: Keliu - Are you still on the boat? How's the winter going? |

Yes, I'm still on the boat. At the moment we're up in Cairns. Although it's winter, the temp is still 27 degrees celsius so it's nice and warm - but it has been terribly windy. Which is annoying for us because we want to go further north up to Lizard Island - so we're waiting for the winds to drop. |
