This is kinda wierd but I'm male with some bad skin. I have really low esteem and I'm trying to improve my appearance. I'm limited by my budget but its become a serious problem for me, the doctor who I spoke to has prescribe me fusidin h cream for my milia which hasn't helped so I'm coming here to see if anyone can help me. Plus I got blackheads on my nose which is already shiny red:(
Please help, btw I live in the UK.

I honestly can't even see anything wrong with your skin. Where is the milia? Are you talking about the ones just under your eye? I think those are pretty small or it might just be the lighting/angle. In any case, what is your skincare routine? You might have some irritating ingredients in some of them that can be causing this. |

I have those too and believe me, they are an eyesore! Even my boyfriend comments on them and even hinted that I do something to remove them. I've tried AHAs, retin-A and they refuse to budge. Last I heard at a plastic surgery talk, is that they are clogged sweat glands and need to be excised but cutting since they are deep-rooted. |

I have some on my forehead. They are really tiny, smaller than any other milia I've ever seen. I'm sure they are caused by my wearing a cap while walking my dog and working out.
Retin A,salicylic acid, exfoliation ... nothing has had any impact. Some people Have reported success with Origins Spot Remover. In the U.S., it's about $12. That wouldn't be too tough on the budget. I have read other posts about milia in which one of the posters reported that she had success using an aspirin mask. This would be a pretty cheap thing to try as well. Both of these suggestions rely on salicylic acid.
Good luck. I know skin problems are wildly frustrating. If you hit upon something that works really well for you, please let us know.
ETA: If your problem is milia under the eye, you may not be able to use either suggestion I offered. I would be very careful putting salicylic acid there. I have read that Yonka eye cream has helped with undereye milia. Don't know why it helps, as I've no experience with Yonka. |

I suggest going to a reputable spa for a professional facial with extractions.
The extractions will be the overall basis of having the facial as during it the therapist will do extractions to remove any milia you have.
This is not a problem you want to address yourself especially after having used what sounds to be all the correct products to help remove the milia. |

Do you mean microdermabrasion or actual dermabrasion? |

i got rid of my millia over time by using a combo of different clear dab on acne meds at night, and exfoliating with a microdermabrasion cloth in the mornings. Be careful not to be too aggressive with the cloth in the morning, though or you will "burn" your skin. |

In the pic Tado's skin looks fine to me! If this is his only complexion problem then he is doing very well indeed!
I wouldn't stress too much Tado - it's not like you have acne or scars, or pigmentation. Most people have millia in the area you have just like most people have blackheads or open pores on their noses - but we dont notice them on other people - they just seem magnified on our own faces! lol
I see celebrities on TV with worse millia and it is often all over their faces - probably from having to wear thick makeup all the time combined with hot studio lighting... |

PS: Dont ever take any notice of how models and celebs look in magazines or billboards!
Firstly they generally have a face full of fillers like: Botox, Juvederm, Collagen, then their faces have been peeled or lasered to perfection -- then to make this even more unfair they are airbrushed to the max!
There is no such thing as perfection - love the skin you're in! Live the life you have - you get one chance at this life and it's too short to waste on trivial stuff! |

I also agree that Tado's skin looks fine. I was expecting to see something shocking based on his description! Things like milia or blackheads might seem obvious to us when looking in the mirror but are actually invisible to other people unless they are literally an inch from your face.
I have recently started using a BHA product for clogged pores in my T-zone and I got results for milia too. I use Neutrogena 3-in-1 hydrating acne treatment. It's the only drugstore BHA product that has good reviews and actually works because its pH is correct. I wanted to try the cheap drugstore version before something more expensive. It's been about three weeks, and my T-zone is a lot smoother although I still have too many clogged pores for my liking (only visible to me ). I have a little bit of milia under both eyes, but only along the "border" of where my face skin starts to turn into "under-eye-skin". Does that make sense? Anyway, I accidentally got a little of the BHA treatment near this border zone and within 15 minutes, I noticed that some of the milia looked like they had been pricked and there was a teeny-tiny dot of the clogged oil or whatever coming out. I couldn't take it all out but since then, I put a little on the milia I have and they look much improved! Mind you, I don't put it under the eye area but just in the curved border region. I'm really excited about this and will of course update here if there are any more improvements.
I have to say my milia were, and are, very very small and the skin feels perfectly smooth where they are despite the bumpy appearance. They're not worth fretting about...clogged pores on the other hand...
AVA
PS Glamcat is so right about the celebs! Look up red carpet pictures from award shows BEFORE they are retouched and view them in their original size. You will see that even the most professional makeup and best skincare in the world can't hide their pores and skin texture. |

For sure ava10, BHA and retinols are the best things for clogged pores
I have some milia under my eyes but it's very light and my husband says he cant even see it! lol
Yes, I've had this conversation with my skin doctor! She literally gets patients bringing in photos from magazines of celebs saying they want skin like "that"! lol and she replies with "But photoshop dont make a laser yet!" hahaha... I told her I can't believe that people fall for the airbrushed perfection they see in mags! The first time we had this chat I said exactly what I said above about celebs being Botoxed, Juvedermed/Restylaned, Collagened then lasered to perfection - then they are AIRBRUSHED! and she said "Thank God you get it!" lol |
