Cross posting my feedback on this product from the free samples thread...

So my full size order arrived from Amazon today, and of course I used it immediately! Very Happy

Thoughts:

- I was impressed at how much dead skin came off my face/neck/chest...most likely from my recent Retin A application on Sunday.
- I did not see much of anything come off my hands or arms.
- I applied it to my face in sections, loosened up the dead skin as directed, and wiped off the skin balls with a towel. Then I reapplied and still got a bunch more dead skin off. Shock
- It is NOT as gentle as they make it sound. I applied my moisturizer product that never stings, but it did after using Cure. Plus my skin looked more wrinkly, and I suspect it may be drying.
- I would limit usage to once or twice a week as recommended (and not twice in a row like I did) in order to limit irritation.

I got my free samples today, and went ahead and used them (the full size bottle is at my sister's house for her to try) since I got a new batch of Retin A peelies from my once a week application last Sunday. Rolling Eyes

This time I made sure that I did NOT overdo the rubbing, and that I fully rinsed the product off in the shower. The amount of dead skin that came off was even grosser than last time (which I attribute to the Retin A). Shock

Provided that my skin is not irritated tomorrow, I would say that I am now hooked on this product, lol. Very Happy

FYI that my skin still mildly stung when I applied my AnteAGE (which normally does not sting EVER) despite being very cautious when using Cure this evening.

Lacy53 and I had a discussion regarding the Cure product, and we decided to put it to a test to see if:

1. The product created any "skin balls" when your finger was not used, and

2. If a film was left on your skin, possibly attributing to the smooth feeling or glow (instead of actual exfoliation).

Here are the results:

1. I took a pic of the clean mirror and 3 materials I used to test the "balling" effect (yellow rubber glove, hair color glove, ziploc baggie) None of them resulted in any of the white balls as experienced when using your fingers with the product.

Before pic showing clean mirror and 3 materials:

Image

Pic after I rubbed each of the blobs with the designated material...the last 2 have some bubbles in them, which I attribute to squirting the 3 blobs out at the same time and they did not rub as smoothly. So you can see bubbles in each of the last 2 product blobs, but there were no "skin balls."

Image

2. I rinsed the mirror well (but did not rub it), and you CAN see a film left. (pic below)

The same film was still there after the mirror drips dried, and was NOT able to be removed by rubbing the spots under running water...I actually had to use Windex to get it off.

Image

Conclusion:

I think Cure really does exfoliate, because my skin felt pretty raw (and over exfoliated) for about 2 days after using it.

However, there is a definite film left on the skin which could contribute a bit to the perceived smoothness, or even the irritation I encountered.

Will I keep using it? YES, however I will be sure to cleanse with a soap product after using to assist in removing the odd film.

I'd love a poll to see what ratio of people actually tried a similar experiment when they first tried to product!! I sure did...I didn't believe how much dead stuff came off my face and neck.

If they did the same tests, I sure wish people had posted that it left a nasty film on your face. Confused

Honestly I never got that from it. I use it on dry skin then hop in the shower when its still wet (with beads of dead skin), never felt a film. Sometimes I use NCN's Rhassoul Soap afterwards because I like the feel though.

It certainly doesn't feel like a film at all, but the mirror proved there is one. I would have never guessed that was the case, but Lacy did and she was right.

Hi Bethany. so does this mean you do not like Cure? I'm thinking about ordering it on amazon, but am hesitant as all I am finding online is positive raving reveiws....which the skeptic in me says is just good marketing. Did you order it or just get the sample from the free site?
Thanks!

I ordered the free samples, but caved and ordered the full size from Amazon before I even received them based on reviews, lol.

As a professional marketer, I can say that the reviews are warranted and not shills. However I would plan on using more product and not going crazy with the rubbing to get the best results. I would also recommend washing the film off after using the product.

Frankly, I would rather use this than a scratchy (and possibly damaging scrub) or overdoing things with a microfiber cloth (I have "burned" my jawbone skin too many times to do that again).

Go for it!

I'm a little confused about the confusion on whether this product actually exfoliates or not. I do a variety of things to my skin - all of which makes it peel, ie. Dermarolling, Retin-A and Lactic Acid Peels. After using these treatments, peeling is blatently obvious as the skin becomes flakey - it doesn't all come off at the same time. I also use a microfibre cloth and the Clarisonic - but I don't classify these things as exfoliators - they're only mildly abrasive.

I have never known my skin to just all peel off evenly - so for that reason, I'm inclined to think that what people are experiencing with this product is balling up. Now that's not to say that the action of the product balling up isn't sloughing off dead skin cells, it probably is.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts on the subject - but I've ordered the product and will report back once I've used it. Whether I've got any skin left to peel off is another thing entirely!!

I do think that the film is part of the "balls"...it adheres to the dead skin. But after experiencing some irritation that feels identical to overexfoliation, I do believe that it removes skin in the process.

BTW, I think that if you did the test we did above with a a non-skin medium, but one with layers that could be removed (unlike a mirror) you would also see some balling up as well.

I was thinking that, too, Keliu. Except when I used it today, I only got the balls on my chin, around my nose and in between my eyes. So, I think if it was just the product, I would get that all over and not just in spots.

I used 3 pumps of the product today, and I did not have any irritation from the products I applied afterward.

also, if you use it repeated times- (ie one time, wash it off, use it again etc), it eventually stops balling. I did this once as I suspected the same thing.

I really prefer this to other exfoliation methods I have used...in my case it feels incredibly calming to my skin, rather than irritating.

I tried Cure on my feet this evening....it bubbled slightly and did create some balls, but nothing to write home about at all. Don't waste your product trying this on your feet, lol. Rolling Eyes

Hi RussianSunshine. I don't use Retin A at the moment, but I would not replace the Retin A with Cure. I think the Cure is great for removing the dead skin cells and/or flakes only - nothing to do with anti-aging!

Riley Girl... and all..
I think the cure is a great compliment to using obaji or retin a. I'm so impressed with how it exfoliates. Like another on the thread says..that some days only parts of the face yeild the balled up skin. It shows you how you miss spots with the clarsonic. try using a small amount on your fingertips and work around your eyes..or nose. It is amazing.
Also..I purchased Egyptian Magic yesterday..it does transform the skin into dewy youthfulness. I'm going to put some in a small jar to use throughout the day. I'll report back ..but initially..it seems pretty great.

Hotdocgirl, how do you use the Egyptian Magic? I bought it and tried it on my hands, but it is pretty greasy. Maybe I used too much?

I posted the ingredients on one of the threads, it is mainly Olive Oil and Bees Wax, I have used it (seriously) since my teens but I find it greasy also!
If I recall correctly the magic ingredients are bee propolis and royal jelly.

I have used the EM mainly for boo boo's never as a moisturizer.

I tried and liked the Cure very much (samples). I would consider purchasing the full size but I am stocked up with 4 jars of the Aloette enzyme peel which works the same on my skin. Smile
