I am so damn frustrated. I just moved into San ANtonio and know no-one. I am trying to get into a spa or dermatologist office to practice and I just keep hitting a brick wall. I guess with this change in careers, I want to start working but can't find a place willing to hire. I am well educated with my B.S. degree to supplement my skills. I am very good, with great references and a little under a year of experience. HELP! I am just so frustrated. Anyone know if anyone is looking for an esthetician in the San Antonio area?

Bumping this up for you, Miss Tina. It sounds very stressful. Sad Hopefully someone will have some leads or suggestions. Either way, we are rooting for you.

You know what?

I'd look into going into biz for myself. You are likely to make WAY more $$.

Rent a space. Plenty of salons have rentals??? In Ca. we have lots of people rent in biz. buildings. They just take the "weird" rooms with the sinks and such. All your gear a write off? And loans for women run biz, can often be had...

Hope it works out for you soon! OH! and have you tried the hotel spas??? They seem to hire the newbies all the time around here!!!

I have debated opening up my own room, however, I am not sure how I can get clients in.

Hotel Spas, well, that is an option!

I agree with a large Hotel spa for a year, build your clientele then open your own place.I will PM you. Remember where you are. When I was in Harlingen Tx, most of the women went into Mexico for skincare it was really much cheaper to have any procedure done there.

I found a job and I have been happily working there for about 3 weeks. It is called The Skin and Permanent Makeup Institute. It is absolutely amazing and I am loving everyday.
