Has anyone heard of Revlon's Eterna 27? It's been a product on the shelves since the 1950s-60s!! I purchased it a week and a half ago and waited until now to post my review. It contains Prognenitin, which is suppose to keep skin hydrated a supple. It was about $14, for a 2 ounce jar (You can find a 6oz jar on Amazon for 21$). Some people might consider it too thick for their skin (if you are prone to breakouts), and at first application it may seem LIGHTLY greasy, but once it soaks in, your skin feels like a baby's butt. Supposedly it's recommended for night use, but I use it both day and night, alone during the day, and on top of my Olay night elixir at night. Let me tell you something... I have expression lines around my eyes (my eyes crinkle when I smile, have had these since I was in my early 20's), and Eterna 27 is SOFTENING them. It gives my skin a rosy, pink matte looking glow, and I am DEFINITELY going to keep this stocked. I'd suggest getting it from Amazon if you want the better deal. I am posting a link from buzzillions.com with the reviews on this product. You can see how many people RAVE about it!! http://www.buzzillions.com/reviews/revlon-eterna-27-moisture-cream-progenitin-reviews

Thank you so much for mentioning this product! I had completely forgotten about it. I have read so many times over the past three decades about Eterna 27.
I do believe that a product that survives this long must have something going for it. I was intending to purchase Clinique's DDML but I am now going to purchase this. If nothing else it will be great in the winter when I'm outdoors for hours and overnight when the humidity is 20% or less.
I keep considering a humidifier for overnight but I will probably be poor at the upkeep and end up with slime. It's easier for me to just spread "goo" all over my face and if I don't like it on my face, my hands can certainly use it. |

Ack!! Discontinued mid-year
I did a google search only to find that Revlon has discontinued Eterna 27.
I just bought one from Amazon. If I like it, I'll stock up and keep them in my spare refrigerator. They will have plenty of company as I have a lot of other products in there. |

My mom and her sisters used this product back in the day! I too have used it in the past. It is no longer available in Canada since it contains Pregnenolone Acetate (but it can be ordered from the US and may get through customs). From what I can recall, the product is a peachy colour and HIGHLY fragranced. I had problems with the smell; it bothered my nose and eyes (tearing). I did end up using it on my hands too but even then the smell bothered me. It definitely is moisturizing/occlusive, but I certainly didn't notice any reduction in lines that I would attribute to the pregnenolone. I think the petrolatum and oils were the work-horses of the product. |

I used Eterna27 on my tummy when I was pregnant 3x. And I have little to zero stretch marks. It was just way too rich to use on my face. Sorry to hear it was discontinued. Great stuff!! |

Thanks for mentioning this product and thanks for your review I use KH VK2 but use an under eye moisturizer, as I am in my early thirties and I am getting those fine lines, as you, when I smile....So I will definitely give this a whirl. Thanks again! |
