I am not sure the reason, but I have tried several creams for my dehydrated oily skin, and if the product contains aloe vera, my skin ends up feeling very tight.
I am sure it is this ingredient, as all the other ingredients seem harmless, mostly water and glycerin. I do not think it is the cleanser, as this happens immediately after applying the moisturizer.
Does anyone have a similar experience with aloe vera? It is in so many products for my skin type! |

I haven't had any luck with it at all over the years and try to avoid products with it. My skin also looked tight and not at its best. |

I am glad I am not the only one having problems with aloe Vera. When I try on a new product designed for dehydrated skin, and my face feels tight afterwards, I see that aloe vera is one of the ingredients.
I dont know if this is an allergic reaction, but it is strange that we react this way as aloe vera is supposed to have soothing and healing properties. |

I think it's the polysaccharide action. Plus a lot of the time aloe products are thickened with carbomer and things that irritate a lot of people.
But I really don't think most products have a high enough percentage to make a difference unless it's like fruit of the earth's aloe gel or something.
My skin was so oily when I was a teenager that aloe gel was pretty much the only thing I could use as a morning moisturizer. The memories. |

I think aloe has lots of water in it so it evaporates. Perhaps you need to seal it with something on top like an oil or butter. |
