My skin is in quite good condition for my late 30s age, but I want to start using a bit more in terms of both prevention and correction, in order to keep on looking my best.
My skin is dry, dehydrated AND a bit sensitive. It is thin and fine in texture with invisible pores, and hardly ever breaks out. So far, so good. I do have a few lines in the undereye area, and some very slight hyperpigmentation on top of my cheekbones-my husband claims I'm the only one who can see them.
Right now, I am using Vit C (15%) in the morning, followed by moisturizer and sunscreen, in the evening MD Formulations Continuous Renewal Complex (14% glycolic acid) followed by moisturizer and eye cream. What else can I incorporate into my routine, without it being too aggressive? I'll stick with the cleansers and moisturizers that work, so I'm rather on the lookout for serums/treatments. |

What about skin actives Let's Make Collagen Serum?
My skin can be pretty sensitive too - and this is not irritating in the least. You do want to apply a moisturizer after because the Sea Kelp can make your skin feel tight (but not in a good way).
Distilled Water, Sea Kelp Bioferment, Sodium PCA, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Pomegranate Extract, Natural Active Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid, L-Carnosine, Boswellia Serrata, Niacinamide, N-Acetyl Glucosamine, Centella Asiatica, Horse Chestnut Extract, Betulinic Acid, Green Tea EGCG, Epidermal Growth Factor BT, Propylene Glycol (and) Diazolidinyl Urea (and) Methylparaben (and) Propylparaben
Garden of Wisdom also has great antioxidants... http://www.gardenofwisdom.com/antioxidants.html |

Hi Nemi,
Well, have you considering trying tretinoin? I have possibly slightly more sensitive skin than yours, and I've been able to get used to tretinoin. Tretinoin is a vitamin A relative that tells the dermal cells to turn over faster and build collagen--it is likely to reduce your hyperpigmentation and undereye lines, though it may take a year or so to see full results.
If you take this route (in consultation with a dermatologist) you may find it helpful to reduce the Vit C and glycolic for a while. BTW, those are relatively strong actives, so I imagine your skin can handle tretinoin. Especially if you start with a lower strength like .025% cream, every third night for a few weeks, then add in nights slowly.
Cheers,
Kay |

I've used the whole bottle of this serum and found it completely useless. It has a nice-sounding list of ingredients, but was not very effective for me, as most of the other GOW products) |

Hi RussianSunshine,
Which are you talking about GOW or Skin Actives?
I guess with antioxidants I am not expecting to see a change - I use it more as a preventative and nourishment for the skin.
The heavy hitter actives that I am using are CPs, Matrixyl and AHAs to undo some damage. I am also giving each of those actives 6 months to a year to see a difference. |
