Is it a good idea to mix a cupful of Argan oil to bleach mixture when bleaching your roots to help protect your hair? |

I bleach my own hair - and I read somewhere to just rub some Argan Oil into your hair and scalp and comb it through before applying the bleach. Works for me. I've never heard of mixing the oil and bleach together though. |

Years ago before anyone heard of Argan Oil around most places we used to apply Wella Cholesterol to the hair first as a protector, I don't see any reason not to use the Argan Oil the same way. I wouldn't mix anything into the bleach itself! |

i am not sure about actually mixing the two in the bowl. it may separate and not mix well and dilute the strength of the bleach. this said, a lot of cream bleaches have oils mixed in them and thats what makes them creamy.
I currently put coconut oil in my hair, prior to bleaching and leave on at least 1 hr. I would recommend using coconut oil or avocado oil. These are the only 2 oils proven to penetrate the hair and thus condition it. the others just sit on top and can provide sleek/shine and softening effects but don't actually treat and condition.
also, if the argan oil isn't pure and is the moroccan oil brand, don't use it. it is just full of silicones. hth. |
