My name is Paula and I am a 40 year old mother of five great kids. I am going to college full time and my stress levels are a little high right now. I am noticing some signs of aging on my face and I hope I am not too late to turn it around. My skin is oily on my chin and along the jawline. The skin under my eyes is starting to thin and looks kind of wrinkly. I have a large red birthmark on my forehead that is very sensitive to certain products and temperature changes, and gets really red when I am upset. I have two or three forehead wrinkles and a new wrinkle in between my eyebrows. They are not deep wrinkles, but I still don't want them!
I have been looking through some of the posts in search of a good vit c serum. I bought the ingredients to make Kassy's Vit. C, E and FA serum. After all of the reading I have done on this website I am absolutely convinced that Kassy is amazing and really knows her stuff!!
I am wondering if the vit. C serum will take care of fine lines under my eye and the crepey look. The skin under my eyes has thinned dramatically. Do I need a special serum or cream for that?
I am not sure if I am ready for retin-a yet, but I am hoping to start that in a few months. I was also interested in using a peptide and wondered what your thoughts are on Matrixyl or Palmitoyl tripeptide-5. Are there recipes that incorporate them on this website? I actually bought some Palmitoyl tripeptide-5, but I haven't used it because I was not sure how to mix it up properly. I am nervous about making something that will make my face look worse, and since I am new to the DIY skincare, so I would rather make something that others have tried and recommend.
I cannot wait to get started making my own serums. I wanted to thank all of you for the help you provide!

Welcome to the forum, Paula. I don't think it is ever too late to effect positive change.
There are a couple of recipes in the Serum section of the DIY Recipe index that incorporate Matrixyl that might interest you. There's also this small thread on Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 that might be helpful http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?p=498736
I'm sure others with more experience on the DIY side of things will pop in with suggestions and advice. |
