I have redness (and brown sun spots) on my cheeks due to a nasty sunburn three years ago. I've tried various things to reverse the damage (papaya soap, african black soap, meladerm, clarisonic mia, sea buckthorn oil) and while it's better, it's nowhere near the condition it was in three years ago before the sunburn. Does LED work for sun damage? And can you all recommend a certain type of light and/or brand for sun damage? I've been reading about Baby Quasar and Lightstim here on this forum but I'd love more info.
BTW, I'm 26 if that matters.
Thanks!! |

I'm about your age too and I took a plunge and started using Lightstim LED couple of times per week. I'm using it mostly for prevention, enlarged pores and to fade out some old acne scars. I also haven't been aware of the sun dangers in my teenage years, so I'm trying to prevent this showing on my face.
So far I'm satisfied. I apply green tea serum cca 20 mins before LED session and retinol cream afterwards. I don't yet see any significant results, but my complexion is clearer and skin looks plumper after the session.
I do leave two days per week for skin to rest from everything (LED and retinol) when I only apply some oils/moisturizer and spf.

I was one of the original here on the Forum to jump on the LED Baby Q bandwagon back when Katee first indroduced us. I've been using it so long, it's now out of habit. It certainly hasn't reversed anything but it hasn't made it worse. I'd say it keeps it in pretty good shape and helps the products penetrate nicely.
I also use the Mia, Sea Buckthorn Oil & have tried the black soap. Those do help as well, my faves are the first two. Black soap hasn't done really anything.
My biggest detriment is keeping myself and my skin hydrated. When my skin is hydrated, it looks so much better.
An occasional microdermabrasion works wonders as well! |

Sounds like it may not help reverse the damage to unveil where my skin used to be before the sun damage. I'll keep on using the Mia and Sea Buckthorn Oil on my face. The Sea Buckthorn Oil in particular has been helping I think.
Thanks! |

If you can afford it, I think a few IPL treatments (at a salon or doctor's office) might help with this. |

Thanks. Actually, using my Clarisonic Mia and Sea Buckthorn Oil overnight has been helping a lot. I think I'm going to continue this regime for a while and see how much more it improves. Thanks! |
