Hi everyone,
This is my first post after a rather long time lurking, absorbing as much as possible to try not to look like a newbie! Thanks so much for all the knowledge you've already shared!!
So, I turned 30 six months ago, and like clockwork I suddenly woke up and noticed lines that hadn't existed the day before! My long-time minor acne problem has also flared up to become a major problem.
I've spent lots of time researching the best routine, and after a visit to a dermatologist have just started using 0.05% tretinoin each night. I am planning on making a vitamin C serum to use in the morning along with applying a really good sunblock (I've always relied on the sunblock in my foundation until now), but am really struggling to see how people manage to fit all the different steps into their morning routine!
Say I get up and wash my face and give it a few minutes to dry completely. Then I apply the vitamin C serum and then wait 30 minutes to put on suncream. Wait 10 minutes for that to sink in. Put on moisturiser and wait another 10 minutes. Put on foundation and wait 5 minutes before completing the rest of my makeup. That's a whooooole lot of time waiting for stuff to sink in. Does anyone have any tips on how to condense the morning routine? Sleep has always won out for me, so the concept of taking longer than 20 minutes to wake up and get out the door in the morning is a little hard to get my head around! Talk about patience being a virtue!!
Any advice from seasoned skincare gurus would be hugely helpful (even if it's just telling me to suck it up! ).

I don't do all that waiting in between products. Just apply your C serum, give if a few minutes to absorb and apply your next step. I personally don't feel there is any reason to wait all that time in between!

Hello and congrats on delurking Elle!
I agree with rileygirl about waiting only a few minutes for Vit C. I find it to sink in pretty fast.
For sunscreen, if it is a chemical one I would wait 15-20 minutes before foundation. I would look for a sunscreen that doubles up as a moisturizer as far as possible.
If it is a physical sunscreen, there would be no wait time required. Just as long as it dries up before your next step.
On waiting time, surf EDS meanwhile? ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

I apply vitamin C under sunscreen. If you need a separate moisturizer apply the moisturizer first; then your sunscreen.
Not sure what sunscreen you are using or your skin type. I like one from La Roche Posay that moisturizes well also. It is LRP Hydraphrase UV 30. It is photostable as it contains Mexoryl and available at SDM in Canada. |

use Vitamin C serum right after toner, wait for 3 to 5 mins, then apply other serum (or lotion).
remember you should look for some Vitamin C serum in stable form b/c it can be easily oxidized. Once oxidized, the function of VitaminC serum decrease quickly. |

I mix my vit.c (powder) with my moisturizer, then apply a sunscreen. |

What vitamin C powder are you using?
This sounds like a great idea. |

I really want to know whether the powder vitamin C is suitable for applying, and can the skin absorb it? |
