my mom is using RA at night and then she uses a water based serum and then avocado oil. in the morning she applies more oil. she says her skin doesn't feel flaky or dry at all. then she applies the devita sunscreen and initially the skin still feels hydrated. but within 30 minutes and once it has soaked in, her skin gets really dry/leathery feeling (almost feels like a burn) around her mouth and chin. do you think the sunscreen is somehow drying on her? there are a lot of oils in the s/s, but it seems to be having this effect, maybe it is the Zinc oxide....any thoughts? |

It could be that the retin-a is making her skin more sensitive which is causing a reaction to something in the sunscreen. I'd definitely suggest trying another SS. |

Devita is not very moisturizing- in my opinion, not at all. But if I'm interpreting correctly, your mother applies oil under the devita, right? Well the dryness is still possible with devita. Try Trukid or burnout. Trukid is probably the best bet in this situation,
unless something like marie veronique is within budget? (but I haven't tried it)
Also- it's possible that Devita is irritating to your mom's skin. For me it's irritating anywhere near the eyes. |
