Since just before Xmas I have been waking up with really red and puffy upper lids. I've tried not using any of my creasm on my lids but this has not helped. I have not changed any of my products and it takes about 3 hours to go away and sometimes gets a bit sore and/or dry.
Has anyone else experienced this and can you recommend anything to help please?
I'm 28 and have not had any problems like this before now
thanks

I have trouble with this too. For me it seems to be mostly hormonal, and I take cranberry supplements to help with it.
Have you noticed any link to hormones or anything? Allergies? Salt? Alcohol? Certain foods? It may be a symptom of a deeper problem, like hypothyroid or something, and if you treat that, the puffy eyes may go away.
Here's a resource that might help: http://www.smartskincare.com/skincarebasics/eyeskincare_donoharm.html
The infopack is free in exchange for a review, and it contains some more specific tips. |

thank you very much for your advice - I'll check out your link and see if it is indeed something else causing the problem.
As far as I know though, I have not changed anything in my normal routine. It's all very puzzling! I've also stared to get very dry and sore eyes. I've just bought some soothing eye gel for my upper lids and will see how that goes. Fingers crossed it will pass
I've also heard good things about cranberry eye gel for puffiness - has anyone tried this at all please? |

Oh, another thought... have you tried a new nail polish or hand cream lately? They could cause irritation through touching the eyes. |

Fragrance is the obvious thing to suspect, and if you'd like any fragrance-free hand cream recs, I've got plenty! In the meantime, pure olive/safflower/coconut/etc oil is nice and unlikely to aggravate your eyes... |

For me, it is totally related to diet and/or allergies as suggested by rockhugger above. Every now and then I get this for a day, sometimes a few days, and it initially worried me until I figured out that invariably it is related to something I ate in the day(s) before. Good luck, Betty! I hope you figure it out soon. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Hi, I had this problem for a few years and I am beggining to think that perhaps at this age group, we go through this.
I've adjusted my diet, tried to get more sleep, drink certain type of herbal teas and it somewhat helped, but it was not my lifestyle that caused the problem.
I think it could of been from chemicals that is in our food or experiencing allergies. I even thought it could be my makeup or skin care, but that was not the case.
Two products that did help: Re Vivie renewal eye serum and Cellcosment eye gel for puffy eyes. It made a huge difference but did not cure the problem. It went away on its own about five years later. |

Did you try buying a new pillow? All of a sudden I'm allergic to my nice down comforter. If you sleep on your side, do you pull wool blankets up over your face?
3 months of that and I would be buggy. On another tact, I bought that Magnolia Fresh Eye Serum by Mychelle and it eliminates puff from upper and lower eyelids, although it is meant for underneath. |
