Hi everyone,
I find i'm really struggling with my digestion as I'm getting older, and nothing seems to help. I have recently read about the many benefits of ACV for skin etc and wondered if anyone had tried it to help with digestion? Some advise to mix a bit of bicarbonate soda to reduce the acidity, so as to not damage the teeth,
what do you guys think?

I tried taking the ACV internally. 1. It's nasty, and 2. It gave me heartburn! I am sure it works for many, but I could not stomach it (literally!) |

You could try digestive enzymes instead either made from pineapple or papaya. You can find them at most all health food stores! A really good probiotic will also help but you may get a bit of bloat until your body adjusts. |

E3 Live has the best digestive enzymes I have ever tried. I drink a little ACV every morning (about 1 tablespoon) in a mug of warm water. Your body may be a little on the acid side. Try drinking more water, and avoid as many acidic items (coffee, tea, meat, dairy...)-or just reduce them. Try a green smoothie for breakfast, kale, spinach, banana, and a little water, and blend. Greens will make your body more alkaline, and your digestion should improve. Good luck! I have been there! |

I tried the capsules for 3 months and all it gave me was indigestion. I prefer a teaspoon now and again with a smoothie/juice drink. The capsules smelled and were hard to take down. Can't say they did much, but I was UTI free! |

I honestly find that the probiotics daily really help in general and digestive enzymes I only use when I know something I eat tends to cause issues. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

I have cranberry capsules with Vitamin C that are great for avoiding UTI's! As much as I love fruits and veggies I don't care for cranberry juice! |

I take the cranberry with VIT C now (and getting over a UTI anyway) but I am missing the ACV, maybe just not daily would help. It also helps my skin stay clear.
I think its like pickling the body! |

LOL, Annie I use it for salad dressing which I eat a lot so I get it there. I am lucky on the break outs, just have never had them. That's good it helps though! ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

I use a tsp to a glass of water, works every time for my heartburn. Forget the Rolaids. This works much better. |

I am back to taking mine, but once a day in tablet form. Differant brand and form and seems to help. I have not had the digestion issues (in fact it is helping) and I take it alternating with my cranberries. I also take a probiotic daily now. This has been a rough winter season. I did not get a flu shot this year for the first time and it seems I have caught everyhting, not just the flu. Dang loveable runny-nosed nieces showering me with kisses & germs (can't complain too much!) and I have been paying for it all season. Next year I will not forget, they do help in my case. |
