I'm having laser hair removal for the whole area. I had 4 sessions and I noticed a reduction of 50%. I'm not sure if I completely want to get rid of it up to 100% because I find that area very ugly without hair Embarassed , but I feel much cleaner. I'm doing laser for my legs, face, arms, underarms, and every where I notice that I have darker hair.

The good thing about laser is that the area never gets itchy + I'm hairfree for about 8 weeks sometimes more. When I used to shave my skin reacted very badly each time I even got some discolorations.

Because the laser cost so much I decided to buy an IPL machine for hair removal from china the prices are great and it will save me lots of money.

The bad thing about laser is the pain, it's very painful and it feels like you are getting burned with an iron but in the end it's worth it.

my first brazilian wax hurt like hell... But i've been getting it regularly for about a year and waxing the area doesnt hurt badly anymore. And the hair grows much slower, so I only have to get it waxed every 2 months.

I have to ask a stupid question. I never wax this area, but I heard that waxing it would be harmful for the nerves down there and that it affects s*x life in a negative way?

Is that true?

hmm i've never heard that before. But waxing for a while leaves the area de-sensitized, but it shouldnt affect the sex life

hmm, I don't know. Maybe you are right. But I think more that it's a very sensitive area even to touch, if the nerves are damages then that will affect s*x life.

Did anyone notice a change?

I've been waxing EVERYTHING down there for years now, and it has done nothing but HELP my sex life!! Without a bird's nest down there, everything seems to feel better. Plus, when there is less hair, there is less odor, so I feel less self-conscious.

I find waxing/shaving down there helps the lovelife. Without the hair shielding everything you feel more. A minor drawback is when the hair starts to grow back and then there are complaints of prickling. Oops, TMI?? Laughing

Well, this has been a very educating discussion, lol! I do some waxing on the bikini area but have never done a brazillian - maybe somewhere in the city where the girls wouldn't know me, I'm quite shy about that area.

Ok, I'll say it. I would like to know (meaning «see») what it looks like before taking the plunge. But I don't want to go on adults-only Web sites. I guess that I will never know, hence never do it.

Here's a suggestion if you're not sure you want to go the Brazilian route - give yourself a shave in the privacy of your own bathroom. It's kind of hard to do the entire area by yourself but at the very least you can do the front and see if you like the prepubescent look. Wink If you don't, the hair will grow back; just remember the TendSkin for the ingrowns. Smile
I had my first before x mas...I'm obviously confused cos I thought it was everything except a 'landing strip'. The girl in the salon said that that was a hollywood and a brazillian left two thin strips of hair either side of the vagina as well as above...basically it was an extreme bikini wax.
I have a pretty good idea of what is «down there» without the fur. I was just wondering about the different styles. And I am totally against shaving.

i may be in the minority here, but i think the 'different' styles all look pretty ridiculous. a waxer i went to do it explained that at least a strip of womanly hair must be left in place so that you didn't look prepubescent. bollocks! i'm for it ALL ON or for it ALL OFF. hairstyles are for your head!

I just shave mine, but with an electric razor. that way it doesn't get itchy or ingrown hairs when it grows back in. But I would love to get a brazilian, possibly even laser removal.

I have mine waxed off with a landing strip. I really think it makes a differance who you go to and what kind of wax they use. Mine is almost painfree, I would rather do that then pluck my eyebrows. I feel so much cleaner having it done. My waxer shapes the hair to make me look slimmer-kinda works. Definately much better during the monthlys. Only problem is, now that summer has hit I have to go in every 2-3 weeks since it is growing back so fast. No fair! The hair on my head is barely growing, but down there it is a free for all!.

Can anyone tell me what is better, waxing, nair or shaving? And also where do they wax? Is it just the front or do they go lower down?

Girl talk with an international flair! I've been waxing for years--to varying degrees. I've also had some lasering. If you want it gone permanently, you'll need several laser treatments. Once I stopped the treatments much of it gradually grew back. Now it's much thinner and easily managed with waxing.

Once you get that smooth feeling, it's hard to go back to the bush. My personal preference is a landing strip that is slightly angled (like a softened triangle). Sounds strange, but it actually looks more natural because if follows the natural curves of your body.

Do you girls shave every day? Shaving would be more convenient, but I always get bumps and ingrown hairs. What's the secret?

Oh, and be careful with the Nair. It's okay on the top/front, but don't go south with it. I tried that. Ouch! I walked funny for 2 days. Smile

Hi everyone!!

I just joined - to talk about skin care - facial skin care Embarassed . And yet - here I am talking about brazilian wax Shock Laughing .

Anyway - I've been doing Brazilian wax off and on for about 5 years now. When I'm too lazy to go and have it waxed - I shave.

I love the clean feel and have been thinking about lasering off the whole area (except perhaps the "landing strip"). At this moment - I don't have money to go the laser route (all those facial products Rolling Eyes ), but that is my long-term plan.

Does the electric shaver give you a close enough shave? I'm assuming it doesn't get between the uhhhh....cheeks? Embarassed
