I was looking at a website and saw Pure Skin Junkie as a potentially interesting line. There seems to be a lot of research behind it, although I'm not sure what it always means.

Has anyone tried this?

This line sounds very scientific. But I cannot find on its site of purchasing. Anyone knows where to purchase this line online? |

The products look fun and have good ingredients but my experience is that things sold through "special distributors only" are generally way overpriced. It's an advertising gimic to create hype. |

This is the link where I saw it being sold. I used to buy from JoElla and she's great. She'll give you lots of information and her thoughts on products. That is, if anyone wants to try.

Lexy, thanks for providing the link. I took a look and have to say I'm fairly skeptical of this line. Despite some of the research links provided, there's something "make-do" about the website and the name Pure Skin Solutions sounds too close to the much beloved Pure Skin Formulations.
The holistic/organic approach is hardly original and could have been paraphrased from Dr. Hauschka's product catalog. Product Names seem to have little bearing on their true purpose. How do you sort out what's best for your skin based upon titles like Dirty Girl and Drama Queen? Is this wish fulfillment or skincare? Maybe this is part of the appeal to some, but not to me.
Reading the history of the founder, I was rather turned off by all the obvious name-dropping of her clients along with the statement about being the first Latina to own a skincare company in the LA area. How is that relevant to skincare?
Sure the ingredients sound great, but this Chiraly sounds like a lot of marketing hype and way overpriced IMHO; I'll definitely take a skip on this line, but interested to hear what you think of this once you've tried it. |

Love, Love this line. I can tell you that it is not hype. I am license Esthetician for 7 years and have been using chirally corrected products for 5 years. This is where our industry is going. There are only two other lines that chirally corrected and they are great too! (Cosmedix and Osmosis) All of using parabens and cancer causing additives should really change. |

When I see websites like pure skin solutions, my BS radar really really starts to tingle... but I'll concede that I felt the same way when I saw how unprofessional the website for Naturderm is. http://www.greatnewskin.com/index2.html
Once I got over lack of professionalism and heard a lot of great feedback from credible users here on EDS and MUA, I've since become a great fan of EpidermxII.
As a licensed esthetician, can you provide some more detail about what makes this line so special and how the ingrediences make such a difference for your clients? |

I totally agree about many aspects of professionalism, and it's interesting how much image stuff like that can sway us. For example, I recall finding a thread where someone was very doubtful of the quality of Best Bath Store products, based on their website and packaging. I do think BBS could do with a redesign in both, but that's beside the point, and it's part of why Dollbird's sticky on good product reviews is so helpful - sometimes the great marketing is on really crappy products and vice versa, haha.
Anyway, website design rant over. I would be interested to see what reviews you guys have of this line! I'm curious to see if the products hold up to their claims. I also hope they get their website together soon simply so I can learn more about some of the products that aren't for sale in the link Lexy provided - I hate having underlined, product-specific points not actually be functional links to click! I don't mind emailing companies for ingredient lists or asking forum members to post them, but it sure is nicer when I don't have to. |

I was at the Las Vegas show and I bought some of Christina's products. Christina was my sales rep for cosmedix. I bought them to kind of see if they were close to the Cosmedix product line. The three chirally correct brands were once a happy family. Due to the American way, they branched out. If you do ur research you will find that Christina products are on the cutting edge of our industry. I personally sat in a class of Dr. Johnson's(inventor of cosmedix and osmosis) and look around at who was sitting there. I am not a name dropper, but there was lots of Doctors and CEO's of major skin care lines taking notes. Chirally correct is the way of the future.
Turn around your cleanser and do a web search on those ingredients or take the Cosmetic Ingredient Course at UCLA Extensions. U will see what they are putting in your skin care products.I personally love Christina's product, but I sell Cosmedix and Osmosis in my skin care business. I found her names for her products are not suitable for a business like mine. I found some products are similar and some are far, far advance.
I am turning all my clients on to Osmosis that is where the inventor of Chirally products is.
My clients are very happy. They have turn back the clocks and don't have to use botox to do! |

WaxBeauty, I am curious, do you know why Dr Johnson would bring out two different lines, Cosmedix and Osmosis. Why not just put the effort into one line? |

Dr. Johnson left Cosmedix two years ago. The inventor, that is why I am getting my clients on Osmosis! |

If you read the info at JoElla's site, she also states that Dr. Johnson left to develop Osmosis and the other gal who also worked with him developed the Junkie line.
The advertising doesn't bother me. The products will tell the true story. I actually ordered a few Osmosis products as well as Junkie products.

There are many other chiral lines, actually, though I think many of them are merely relabels of the same products. Sircuit Skincare is one chirally correct line. There is also one with chiral in the name that I cannot recall.
I actually haven't found these products to be any better than non-chirally corrected ones, but that's just me.
I believe that natural products are by nature chirally correct--at least, that's my understanding. |

I am interested in this line. I tried Sircuitskin and got good results, especially from the night cream Dream Weaver, but I just could not stand the smell of the products... I still kind of miss the effects, though...
Could anyone tell me if these products smell and also, there are no photos of the packaging - what does it look like? |

I've been using the Junkie and some Osmosis products for 4 days now and wanted to report. Some background, I'm 57, have medium/fair skin, looking for anti-aging/tightening, and I have skin that gets congested with sebum easily. I've always been oily. It's less so in my "mature" years but still there.
I've been using ISClinical religously for 2 years now and ran out of several things all at once so started to look for a cheaper line. The ISC has been great but not perfect for me. I haven't been keeping up with my regime as diligently as I should in the past month because we're in the process of moving and selling our house. That means, some nights I didn't even wash.
I'm using the Osmosis Clarify in the a.m. with SKJ Cellular, and SKJ Youth and Cellular in the evening. I was told I don't need a moisturizer and that seems to be true.
My skin is purging like crazy! I have little bumps coming up all over my T-zone and that white sebum junk that seems to be coming from my toes. In places, my skin is exfoliating like crazy. Right now, it's NOT a good look.
I'm going to stick with it for 3 weeks and see what happens. The PLUS side is that once the pores are clear, they truly disappear (and I have huge pores on my nose and nose/cheek area). Also, my skin is noticeably tighter/firmer. So I'm keeping the faith that I'll be a raving beauty after three weeks. We all shall see.

I don't see where I can edit my post. I meant PSJ (Pure Skin Junkie), not SKJ(Skin Care Junkie, which I made up ) |

Now I'm feeling silly reporting in on Osmosis and Pure Skin Junkie cuz I'm just talking to myself. Oh well. If anyone is interested.....
I am IN LOVE with both of these lines! It's hard to tell which product line is doing what because they are so similar. Osmosis is quite a bit cheaper than PSJ though.
The purging is mostly over and my "new" issue is rosacea that is surfacing. I have a fairly mild case of rosacea - only comes up during the summer/when I'm in the sun too much. It's a very light red butterfly like I always get. I was told to give it time and it, too, would heal. It's starting to already. Really!
If anyone wants to hear more or has questions, I'd be happy to continue. Otherwise, I'd just like to say that this is the most promising skincare line (both of them) that I've used since ISClinical. And I'm liking this better than ISC. A WHOLE bunch cheaper, that's for sure!

Hi Lexy
Your not talking to yourself. I am very interested to hear your progress with this line. Please keep us updated.
Until now I had never heard of Osmosis or Pure Skin Junkie.
BTW it is nice seeing you back on EDS.

Guess I've been gone for quite some time - you're the moderator!!! Good for you!
ISC was working so well for me that I didn't have a need to keep searching or be tempted by the forums. I was happy enough but then found those two lines by accident and was intrigued. I'm glad I took a chance!
I'll let you know how it goes over the next few weeks.

PS - good to see you too! |

Alexis52, I have also been reading this thread with interest, not so much on the Pure Skin Junkie products but certainly on Osmosis. So any further info you can supply on these products would be greatly appreciated. |

Hi lexy,
Thanks for the continued reviews! I've long wanted to try the Osmosis range since stumbling upon their website but am not sure which product to try first! I'm really interested in their eye product but it's really pricey at $68 for a tiny 8ml!!! Hope you can let us know which product you're loving most right now so I have an idea of what to get. Thanks!! |

I'm not perfect yet but, gosh darnnit, I'm getting close.
I don't know what the equivalent of these products are in the Osmosis line but I use Cellular and Youth from PSJ - that's it. I bought Osmosis Clarity for my son's iffy skin and the Osmosis cleanser.
My skin is continuing to improve. The overall color and clarity is much improved. My pores look MUCH smaller and I have huge pores on my nose. There is a definite tightening/lifting effect also. I'm really, really tickled with these products so far.
Just a couple things to keep in mind if you decide to purchase:
1) the products aren't safety sealed. Maybe someday they will be but aren't right now so make sure you buy from a reputable dealer.
2) the products are natural and some have a fragrance (mostly an orangey smell) although no fragrance is added. I like it.
3) you need to give them at least 3 weeks before you judge if they are for you. I still have skin peeling in little places so the process continues.
4) the products definitely make your skin feel tight but not dry. I REALLY wanted to reach for a moisturizer but was told not to - there is enough moisture in the products.
I'll report back in another week or so and let you know if I get to perfect by then.
