So, I feel a little disingenuous with that title as I'm only about 75% percent Paleo.
Have you heard of the Paleo-diet?
The basic rules are, eat like a hunter-gather. Eat like people did before agriculture.
This basically means no processed sugar, no grains and no dairy.
There are a few other rules. But those are the basics.
I started this almost by chance about 2 months ago because my roommate started it and I thought I'd follow suit for ease of cooking. I've felt better in general and I've lost almost 10 pounds without changing anything else.
Anyone tried this? |

I ate alkalizing diet for about 8 months, no meat, grain, dairy, or peanuts. I also lost about 15 pounds and it kicked me into a better level of fitness so I stayed at that weight.
Now I do eat some grains but hardly ever buy bread, but I have amaranth for breakfast etc.
My diet doesn't have any processed foods or chemicals which I find a lot more dangerous than occasional grain. Eating cheese now is so great, I missed it and yogurt. |

packratmack: The video is only available to be viewed in the US. I don't know about the workout they featured, but there is a HUGE crossover between Paleo-eaters and Cross-fit.
secretly: wow, that's an intense diet. I don't think I could give up meat, I've tried twice but it makes me feel AWFUL.
I'm trying to eat better meat instead.
Once I get things sorted out, I think I'd like to add some quinoa and amaranth back in.
I did miss yoghurt, but now I make coconut milk yoghurt. So. Good. |

the alkalizing diet is really hard core and I did it to get to another level in my CFS recovery, so it was worth it.
but illness aside I'm sort of against demonizing any kind of "real" food, and everyone is different so I really don't think there is a one size fits all diet.
I agree, I need meat too and I also need carbs, not crap carbs but you know. And yes good meat is so different, the only thing I won't eat is pork because those animals are so tortured and I can't seem to find any free range or organically fed pork.
YUM on the coconut yogurt I'm going to try making that too, yummy! |

Hi, you're right about the crossover between the paleo diet and crossfit. The workouts they were showing were being used by people at a crossfit gym. |
