I am using the devita body sunscreen and really liking it. How does the Purple Prairie sunscreen compare? differ? is it better, or similar? I think they might have a newer version now. I don't know if they reformulated it or not. anyone know? or has anyone used the newer one? thanks |

I just checked and YES purple prairie sun products are reformulated and finally available! I have not tried it yet but I will soon!
I don't think their lip balm with zinc oxide changed and besides the fact that it was pretty white I really loved the buttery texture. For night time/indoors their regular lip balms are wonderful, they're just like sticks of butter.
I'm making an order now- I'll get a bunch of lip balms, both with zinc oxide and without, the sun stick, and the sunscreen.
By the way, my go to lip balm with spf is burnout's lip balm. Its texture is not as nice as purple prairie's, but it's not as whitening.
I really really wish someone would manufacture a tinted lip balm with zinc oxide. The tint would take care of the whitening. I've even contacted companies about it. Badger and 100% seemed the most receptive to this idea. Badger told me that they're now working on a tinted sunscreen and that's the priority. |

yeah hopefully it will still be as cosmetically elegant as the previous version.
I am curious about if it really protects well in the sun. I have read several reviews that it didn't protect. they were outside for 3 hrs and even reapplied after 2 hrs and they weren't swimming and still got burned. they are even thinking there is something in it that made them burn worse than having no sunscreen on.
maybe it could be the essential oils. please let us know and give it a good test. will look for a review. thanks |

Whoa! If you find purple prairie cosmetically elegant enough for your needs, that's awesome. I got my stuff from purple prairie. If it was reformulated, I can't really tell. Still kind of white, maybe a little sticky, definitely not as nice/cosmetically elegant as the competition. I'll try to use it up on the body.
I still like their lip balm with spf as long as I layer a tinted lip product over it. I like the sun stick, that can double as a lip balm with spf and it seems less white than the lip balm. The sun stick will be great for when you're going to go in the water and you want as much water resistance/protection as possible. |

I've been using the Purple Prairie and adding a few drops of liquid mineral tint from NCN and mixing in a very small container.Maybelline Dream liquid mousse worked well also. This makes a fantastic sunscreen for my face/neck. No white tint at all. I've tried Marie Veronique sunscreen and like this better. Not to mention it's a fraction of the cost of the MV. |
