Do you have any suspicions about what's causing the redness? Depending on the cause, niacinamide is an ingredient that may help you.
For the dark circles, I understand that Vit C can help. Again it depends what's causing them, but Vit C is both a lightener of pigment (and sunscreen is good for that too) and a strengthener of blood vessel walls. |

Dehydration can lead to dark circles so make sure you are drinking plenty of water during the day.
According to a 2002 study by the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology demonstrated Vitamin K to be a good line of defense against bruising, and likely dark circles as well.
Avoid excessive amounts of salt. Sodium can cause water retention, which in turn can cause dark circles.
As far a the redness goes Eminence by Dr. Paula's skincare. It works great for reducing signs of redness & inflammation. I love it. |

yes you might want to try dermalogica's ultracalming line. it is quite good for redness and sensitivity. But at the same time, there are still some irritating ingredients in that line so make sure it is causing more good than bad for your skin. YOu can also look into cetaphil as they specialize in sensitive skin. And you may want to check for irritating ingredients in your curent skin care products |

Hi ethan123:
Can you provide some additional information, so that better recommendations can be suggested for you.
What is your approximate age group?
Are you prone to acne breakouts and/or whiteheads & blackheads?
What is your skin type; Dry, Oily, Combo?
What skin care program & products are you currently using?
Has this problem existed for quite awhile or is it something new? |

For the redness, I think you may try some soothing mask or use the products which specially for sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin too. When my skin got redness, I use the Avene mask. It seems quite good to calm dowm my skin.
For the dark eye circle, I will suggest you do some massage on the eye area softly. Drink warm water and go to sleep earlier. |

I think drinking water before going to bed will make eyes puffy in the next morning.
but you can use hot-warm cloth in the morning to better the circulation better.
I have also try the self-heating eye mask from Japan, really good |

For me, all I do is wash my face regularly, after I finish my meal. I wash it when I wake up, and I wash it before I go to sleep. I would suggest you here that avoid all junk food, including chips, soda, and sugary snacks. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. That all should work. Products just cover them up, in my opinion. Just try this for a month. I am already having a nice experience with positive results. |

What skincare products are you currently using as this could be causing the issues or if not causing just making them worse? |

You can look into Paula's Choice skin relief toner. It has aspirin in it which helps to reduce redness |

Redness is due to inflammation, you need to lower your intake of refined carbs and eat plenty of protein.
Circles under the eyes are also diet related and/or hereditary. Concealer is probably your best bet, Laura Mercier or Cle de Peau. |

The redness on your face, is it due to broken capillaries? I have broken capillaries around my nose and on my cheeks, I have not found any skin care products that will eliminate the appearance of those broken capillaries. As far as I know, the only effective solution is laser treatments.
I have dark circles too, and nothing has helped to get rid of them. I’ve tried many many different eye creams/gel and experienced no results. Tinted Moisturizer and Concealer are the only solution for my dark eye circles.
I don’t have any skin care recommendations that could help with your redness and dark circles coz I have personally found none. Try using a tinted moisturizer, especially one with SPF, to conceal the redness and dark circles, thats what I do every day. Tinted moisturizer is not as heavy looking as applying foundation or concealer, and it looks natural and blends into your skin. |

I have suffered with dark circles for years and so far .. nothing I have tried has worked ......... teamine which got great reviews did not work .. i use Retin A, hydroquinine, Vitamin C and Vitamin E... But None of them have helped with circles.. I also tried Vitamin K .. unfortunately this also did nothing... a good concealer is the best option I am forced to use .... as far as redness ... maybe you have rosacea... there are medications for it now that will help alleviate this and I heard it works pretty well ... my neighbor suffers with this and she is on it and her face is definitely ALOT better .... she hates to wear makeup and never does .. And I can see the difference since she started using it.... her redness was around her nose and cheek area though... not really on her forehead if i remember.... |

I have the same problem... I use a sunscreen/mosturizer in the morning and evening. Also, being red was a lot of being in the sun. If you put on extra sunscreen all the time it will help. Also, every time I go outside I must wear a hat. I use a cetaphil daily mosturizer- it doesn't clog pores and their face wash is great.
Also, you might have rosacea, like I have. What help evens out my skin tone is green tinged coverup or bronzer and powder, which hides the redness. Hope this helps!! |

Gentle cleansing is always good and sunscreen during the day. Counteract the redness with an spf yellowish tinted moisturizer and you won't have to layer product by going this route. The less you have on your face the better. |
