Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a cream cleanser that really works to remove all traces of make-up & dirt AND prevents break outs.
It's funny becuase I use some really great, high end moisturizers and toners. For example Jurlique Herbal Gel, Phytomer, Yonka, Earth Science, etc.
But.......
When it comes to cleansers, I have had no luck. My skin is sensitive but can break out on my chin area. I can't use foam or gel as they are way to harsh. But most cream cleansers don't remove all my make-up so I end up breaking out. Is there a cream cleanser that contains salicyclic acid? I've been using Clean & Clear Cream Cleanser for 3 years but would like to try something else.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I've been wondering about Phytomer Cream Cleasner? |

I know that both Neutrogena and L'Oreal (Pure Zone) have cream cleansers with BHAs in them. I'm not sure about salon or department cleansers though. Perhaps Caspers Mum or Magda might be able to suggest some if you contacted them and if you are looking at the brands that EDS stocks.

I've used Eve Lom's Cleanser once a week for years. It's a weird texture - like a pot of lip balm - and you spread it all over your face and neck and then there's a gentle massage routine that you follow to drain your lymph nodes & stimulate circulation. There's a piece of muslin in the kit that you take it all off with. If you have breakouts, you can use it more often. It does take off makeup. Don't let the texture turn you off. My skin is oily/sensitive and it's glowing & clean after my "ritual". |

Okay, thanks
Where can I purchase Eve Lom online? I have never heard of it before but would certainly like to try it.
Thanks |

You can get the Eve Lom cleanser from the official site http://www.evelom.co.uk/
The Eve Lom cleanser is an interesting one and many people either love it or hate it. I still have a jar of it at home and only use it very occasionally. I do like the whole lymphatic drainage procedure though. Btw, Miss Shoes, this cleanser does not havy salicylic acid.

I have tried eve lom cleanser for a while. In the beginning it seems to be great, leaving my face squeaky clean. However over time, it started to irritate my face. Making it very tight and sensitive.
Also you have to clean the muslin cloth everyday after use. Kind of a pain, imho. |

Sothy's Purifying Beauty Milk, is by far the best one to try. I have combo skin that breaks out once and awhile, and I love cream cleansers. This one is a wipe away, cream cleanser, that leaves my skin clean, and free of any breakouts. I highly recommend this product. |

I love Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish, it's a cream that you massage all over your face then rinse off using a muslin cloth and hot water. It leaves my skin very clean and it doesn't dry it out at all.

My skin is dry, and a bit on the sensitive side, so I prefer cream cleansers. I adore the cleansing cream for dry skin from Decleor (light yellow, comes in a bottle), and Matis also has a DIVINE cream cleanser in a tube. |

Hi Miss Shoes,
(btw, cool name as I'm a total a shoe-addict)
If you are looking to try a cream cleanser, I have used the Phytomer Gentle Cleansing Cream and it works well in dissolving make up. It suits all skin types, but depending on HOW sensitive your skin is, you might like to ask for a sample to try first to ensure it's right for you. However, I can say it is very gentle and a pleasure to use as it has a pleasant clean scent. I don't try to use it to remove mascara as my trusty eye makeup remover does that job, but it is safe to go over your eyes with it. It does a fab job at achieving a nicely cleansed face that isn't left feeling tight after you wash it off. For that reason, and as I have normal/ combo skin that tends to get dry on the cheeks I steer clear of gel or foaming cleansers.

Gatineau Melatogenine Refreshing Cleansing Cream... it's completely water rinsible and doubles as toner too. Very very good for water lovers who desire a cream product.
Try it. |

hi miss shoes,
i'll ramble a bit but i promise to get to the point. i have sensitive dry skin that is reactive. i don't break out but i get rashes, blotches, and bumps. i'm also a cleanser/toner freak, so i've been trying out alot of products as well. because of my skin type, most lines for sensitive/rosacea skin type usually put out a milk solution. i myself prefer the creams!
i recently received a sample of Sothys Desquacrem (a cream). it is a treatment done 1-2 wk, part of the cleansing routine, but done after the cleanser. i was so estatic with the results i just purchased 2 tubes. when you massage it in, it is so creamy, soothing, and luxurious. just working it on my face was a treat. rinsing was a breeze. it came off simply and quickly. it just slid off.
i didn't expect results...first off, my skin was comfortable and at ease. when i looked into the mirror it looked like i had a light exfoliation.. clear, smooth skin, hydrated and soft looking, but taut/tone looking as well. i absolutely recommend.
i was so excited about the results, i looked at sothys in a new light. while purchasing the 2 tubes of desquacrem, i also bought sothys morning cleanser (cream), foaming gel, and 5 masks. it was a wow! i hope you get the chance to try the desquacrem too!
back to point, about the cleansing creams, i'm looking too. i found a few but still undecided. sometimes, the product description says cream but they really mean a milk.
if you're interested in cleansing milks/liquids, i would recommend the valmonts. i use almost all the valmont cleansers, and have others on the side counter that i like to alternate with (orlane B21/vivifying, prevonia rosacea, gatineau, elemis, darphin, and payot). but the valmonts are my fav!
the valmont water falls, white falls, dermo, and nature are all milky liquids, that are beautifully scented, and soothing to cleanse with. they all feel calming and gentle, and rinse away with ease. it leaves my face soft, refreshed, hydrated, and calm. the valmont magic falls is a cleansing oil that i love to use just before my cleansing routine, when i am doing a lymphatic drainage massage/tanaka massage. none of the v cleansing products have ever given me any irritation.
i haven't found a wow cleansing cream, so when i'm craving for a creamy cleanser, i end up grabbing for a cream mask and use it as a cleanser. it seems to do the job and gives me the soothing and fresh relief that i need.

arielstar seems to be resurrecting a vast number of old posts. It is confusing, Ilnia, I agree. Best to check the username of the last contributor to a thread. If it's arielstar's, then you'll know it's going to be an old one and you can, therefore, avoid wasting time answering it.
Hopefully, she'll achieve the discount level she wants soon and the chaos will then cease. |

Have you tried Rose hips cleanser - DianaYvonne.com? Nice - very nice pH balanced. Also Nanci from NCN has a carrot cleanser I've used and like that also. |

dark moon,
i'm still having problems with a cream cleanser as well.
do you think it is ok to use a moisturizer or mask (in the valmonts) and use it like a cream cleanser? |

I use OCM (oil cleansing method) and for a regular cleanser when the mood strikes I have a nice creamy liquid cleanser made by Pur Minerals! I don't really tend to buy into the hype of all the pricey brands, I did and never found the miracles promised, but I have really normal non-reactive skin! I just read the ingredients and don't see the value for the money personally! Everyone is different though so if something really works well for you than my thought is stick with it! Your the best judge of what works best on your own skin! What issues are you having with your cleanser?

yes, i tried the ocm, and do it maybe once a week. when i did it everyday, even with slick olive oil/or saff oil/avocado oil, i felt like i was peeling my skin off. i was very red and skin was thin from only 3-4 days of it. i saw a big difference in my pores though... they were all clean.
i have crappy skin! now i'm using gentle cleansers and have blackheads but no irritation. ![Confused](images/smiles/confused.gif) |

For Oily skin which I have - a blend of Castor Oil and Jojoba has worked wonderfully. I know some have used Hemp also. My all-time favorite is the Rose hip from dianayvonne. I do switch around and that seems best. OCM at night to remove make-up and do the Tanaka massage and then a Rhassoul cleansing bar soap in AM from NCN. |
