Another reason to use a physical suncreen perhaps?
I was reading on the subject of topical zinc, and most studies relate to would healing, but found this in Baumanns Cosmetic Dermatology Book. She says that a topical zinc eye gel improved elasticity in a study.
Ive taken a screenshot of the book page and you can access it here: http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff476/SavoryTv/zinc.jpg

And here is a detailed pdf of the study:

Just thought it was interesting and wanted to share!

Editing to add that I think this was the 2007 Relastin study, which people really do not review very fondly. It was "zinc citrate" in that product.
I did find another study about zinc and elasticity, this time with Zinc oxide, and it suggested that a suncreen with zo improved elasticity and decreased elastase (the enzyme that breaks down elastin), but perhaps that would be with any sunscreen?
Food for thought anyway.... |
