I there...
I have been reading a lot for Hydroquinone mixing for trat hyperpigmentation.. and get even tone..
I recently tried the following:
Pure hydroquinone prepared at six percent on propylene glycol.. with a little bit of citric acid for HQ stabilization....
The thing is.. that first applied... nothing happened.. even no stinging typical from theses commerial HQ creams...
the second day mild redness.. but no discomfort..
thrid day... remarkable redness all over the applied area.. I look like I have a sunburn...
Now there are 3 days after.. and I'm still red!
I have applied before some commercial HQ creams at 4%, like CLASIFEL 4%.. with no problems...
Now I have to stop this treatment... because I look pink like a pig!
What should I do? ![Shock](images/smiles/shock.gif) |

You should go and see a dermatologist and get professional advice. Hydroquinone isn't recommended to be used in concentrations more than 2%. you've used 3 times the amount so I'm not surprised you have an adverse reaction. More doesn't always equal better. |

Hi Portland,
Is this a DIY HQ? I know that the Obagi Clear contains 4% and it made my face quite red even before adding the retin a. I can only imagine what 6% would do!
I would definitely let your face return to normal and maybe use a facial oil in the meantime.
Have you looked into any prescription grade or cosmetic grade HQ products to use instead? |

I don't want to see a dermatologist... excuse if it sounds rough... but here dermatologist.. are... a little bit of... old fashion (chile)
so.. yes.. it tas DIY HQ, at 6% on propylene glycol... I have been using CLASIFEL 4% with no improveMENT... so.. now.. I leave this DIY HQ and redness gone.. but... now what?
Should I try alpha arbutin instead? (BTW i havge not read any real personal experience about improvement with arbutin)
should I try Mequinol (I bought once.. it stinks soo much that I could use it again)
....
I think there might be another way to prepare HQ to avoid this problems...
Maybe you don't undestand why im using DIY HQ creams ... it because I have very prone acne skin.. do you know some HQ cream non comedogenic? |

What about the Obagi Clear with 4% HQ in conjunction with retin a or tretinoin cream?
I know that hydroquinone is very good for hyperpigmentation and retin a is often prescribed for acneic conditions. |

Im not sure if it will help in this case but most of the time when I get a reaction or redness I apply pure almond oil and it REALLY helps me.. Perhaps you can give it a try? |

Hey guys... thank you so muc for your responses,
I can tell that today I wake up with no redness at all.. ..
So it was the HQ serum.. I dont understand why this happened, I have been using Mequinol 10% before with no problems.. I decided to leave it because mequinol is smells horrible.. and the bleaching effect that I got was uneven, I mean like white patches... when i leave it, they gone..
I decided to try some thing without HQ, since I have been using it withmore than 4 months... I think it might be dangerous..
I recently bought this lemon bioferment pee product.. i have been reding a lot of good reviews and comments of this product..
