Hello,
I'm a brand new poster. The members here seem so helpful and knowledgeable so I decided to register an account. I have coarse, dark chin hairs that I am constantly tweezing or epilating. No matter if I sanitize, moisturize, or exfoliate before or after, I always end up with ingrown hairs, which leads to painful bumps, which always leave a hyperpigmentation mark after they heal.
I am currently using M2 lotion to try and fade the postinflammatory hyperpigmentation marks all over my face. However, I still have to get rid of the hair, somehow (depilatory creams are a no-no because of the malic/mandelic acid treatment. Plus, my hair is so coarse that it never works all that well.) Any tips as to how I can further reduce my chances of ingrown hairs? Thanks very much. |

Just shave it. You greatly reduce your risk of ingrown hairs if you shave as opposed to epilate or pluck or wax, which rips out the hair by the roots. |

BHA works great for this. It gets in the pore to help clean it out.
I would definitely consider electrolysis. |

Thanks for all the tips. The hair grows back too fast to keep shaving, and I can't afford the electrolysis, unfortunately. I had an epiphany a few days back decided to try men's aftershave lotion. I hope this works and if it does I will share with you all. |

Second the BHA--good ones from Paula's Choice, and a drugstore option is Neutrogena acne stress control 3-in-1 hydrating treatment. BHA is in some men's aftershaves, but I would specifically look for this ingredient. |
