Hello everyone. I have a Shiseido sunscreen that I want to wear daily because of it's high PPD. The issue is the white cast left from the ss. I want to wear a tinted moisturizer to combat the white cast left but I am not experienced with makeup so I am coming to all of you for help!!!
How do I apply the tinted moisturizer? Should I mix it in with the sunscreen or apply it over the sunscreen?
I am not wanting it to be obvious that I am wearing makeup (I guess optimally that's the goal of makeup, right?) |

Mixing it with makeup/moisturizer will usually decrease the SPF a little, so it's better to apply the sunscreen first if you're willing to do the extra step. I'm also on the journey to find a good physical sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast... I'll let you know when I find one! |

previous years, I used chemical sunscreen (like Shiseido or Sofina).
1. I applied the chemical suncreen first (shake the bottle well before application, get ~quarter size of sunscreen in order to the chemical sunscreen to work).
2. Wait for 15 mins
3. Then apply your tinted moisturizer. (you can also use tinted moisturizer with SPF, so that it won't decrease the SPF strength)

if you use physical suncreen, you don't need to wait for 15 min. you can directly apply your tinted moisturizer right after your physical sunscreen.

I am one of those that was on the lookout for a physical sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast on my face...I found it in Elta MD UV Physical SPF 41. It's tinted slightly and goes on very creamy unlike a lot of them that are pasty in a way. I find it works really well with TM's...it's really great stuff. I bought it off Ebay for like $24....

I'm "dark" (NC42) and I have never had a problem with a white cast (I've used Skinceuticals Physical, Solbar, Devita, etc.). Just wait till it absorbs before applying makeup. |
