Hi, this is my first time posting here so if I have posted in the wrong place or if this question has been answered millions of times then I apologize.
First off, I am 17 years old nearly 18, male, and the main reason I am here is because I do modelling and I really need some help.
I have just started to notice that I have a smile line, but it is asymmetrical, so only on one side. Now, it can only be seen when I smile in that it is more pronounced and comes down further than the other side, and although it is not too big of a problem I guess, it is not exactly great for my confidence/potential upcoming shoots. When I stop smiling, a small faint line appears for a few minutes after, so the skin has obviously folded, and where it folds when I smile, it just does not look right on that cheek.
So yeah, any products that people could recommend? I went into a few shops today but did not feel inclined to buy anything because obviously I had not researched into it, and did not want to be wasting my time and money. Upon looking into it, maybe I need something to aid my elastin/collagen? Also that acid that I have forgot the name of!
In addition, any good products for small lines under the eyes? Although it is not exactly much of a problem at all and it is inevitable, I would like to prevent/hide them a bit if possible. Same goes for slight discoloration or dark circles under eyes. The doctor said this could just be down to my weight and the fact I do not have a lot of fat on my face as the vessels are more exposed or something?
Thanks! |

Hi there, and welcome!
So the usual answers for first wrinkles/lines are good (meaning UVA-blocking too) sunscreen and some form of Vitamin A, the choices being from weakest to strongest: retinyl palmitate, retinol, retinaldehyde (Avene products), and prescription tretinoin/retinoic acid. Also possibly helpful are AHAs, Vitamin C, and other antioxidants like green tea (but mostly for prevention).
For under-eye circles, it depends on the cause, but helpful ingredients are Vit C or K, and super-gentle sunscreen. And of course, big, 100% UV-blocking sunglasses! |
