There are some, last has a few links and brands. You will find it sold for use in cooking, but it is the same if you can consume it and it's 100% pure it makes no difference.

You can also consider eBay... usually natural ingredients such as these can be easily found there. Just make sure you are buying from someone with a lot of reliable feedback.

I've been using Shea Terra Organics Rose Water Ester-C Facial Mist and really love it for the smell alone. I haven't been using it long enough to know if it's doing anything for my skin. But they also sell just the rose water: http://www.sheaterraorganics.com/Spritz-of-Moroccan-Rose-Water_p_223.html which they say is 100% pure and natural.

I'm assuming it's 4 oz. like the ester-c bottle.

They have a coupon code - may30 - which brings the price down from $16.00 to $11.20.

The grocery store I shop at sells it, but I am in Ottawa,Canada.

I shop at a Middle Eastern/Lebanese-owned store a few times a week.

They have rosewater and orange blossom water-it is Cedars brand and i think the glass bottle is 200-250ml and under $3.

you can drink the one they sell, it is meant for cooking, same with the orange blossom water.

I am not a big fan of rose in my food and pastries though, but that is what most middle eastern bakeries use in the pastries (I know someone who has a bakery and they always tell me about how they make the pastries there).

Not sure where online you get this though

Agree Skippie - I have STO rose water also. I mix with clay to make a masque and it's great as a spray.

Oooh - I've looked at the Ester-C mist also. but held off. It seems like a nice product. I love the company and the packaging.

Disclosure -- I do PR for this brand, but I really do like the Dream Organics Rose Water Mist. It's 100% organic Bulgarian rose water with from a farm that has been organic for more than 100 years. Celebrity make-up artists love to apply it before and after the make-up process. It retails for $18 and can be purchased at their website (I can't post links here).

Sorry for the client plug, but it really is a great product!

That's where I bought mine. I use it for cooking and keep it in the fridge. It's very long lasting and was very cheap.

I might try the orange blossom water as I am not a fan of rose scent.

Wouldn't rose water be better quality if it is the one you can eat and drink than the "cosmetic" one??

I am a little confused about hydrosols.
Would you consider the following to be a hydrosol?: https://shop.newdirections.com.au/epages/newdirections.sf/en_AU/?LastViewObjectID=198809&ViewAction=View&ChangeAction=&ShopURL=https%3A%2F%2Fshop.newdirections.com.au%2Fepages%2Fnewdirections.sf%2Fen_AU%2F&Quantity=1&ChangeObjectID=210831&x=19&y=15

Is that what you're talking about here - rose hydrosol?

A pure hydrosol is just the water and what is left from the plant/flower after the essential oil is obtained.
the one you listed does have the following ingredients which include a preservatives, but it is still considered a hydrosol.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Rose Bulgarian Absolute, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin

Getting a little off thread topic but do you consider the following to be a hydrosol too? https://shop.newdirections.com.au/epages/newdirections.sf/en_AU/?LastViewObjectID=198809&ViewAction=View&ChangeAction=&ShopURL=https%3A%2F%2Fshop.newdirections.com.au%2Fepages%2Fnewdirections.sf%2Fen_AU%2F&Quantity=1&ChangeObjectID=210836&x=31&y=5
It has more ingredients..

From the description on this site I am wondering whether this is to be a base "liquid" to which you add whatever eg actives you want to..

It is a floral water very close to a hydrosol, I see added Castor oil and glycerin which would be more emollient than a straight hydrosol. I see where it says it can be used to make your own skin care products, so unless you are against the added preservatives it looks good. I also know New Directions has a very good reputation, although I can't personally vouch for the aussie site. Very Happy

Uhm no I wouldn't consider that to be a *true* hydrosol.

There are 2 kinds of floral water. One is the true hydrosol that is a by product from obtaining essential oils. The other is distilled water to which essential oil (or absolutes) are added to.

If you have very sensitive skin you would be able to tell right away. I can handle most hydrosols, but not the essential oil type of floral water.

True hydrosols are usually more expensive than the essential oil floral water. Smile

Floral Water is known for its fragrant softening and soothing effects. Organic Bulgarian Rose is steamed distilled by-product of rose otto production.
www.kangarooislandcosmetics.com.au/ingredients.php

Hydrosols are produced by water or steam distillation of the flower or herb, and contain most of the hydrophillic (water soluble) molecules from the plant or flower material that did not distil into the essential oil. Also known as hydrolat, hydrolate, distillate water or floral water.

One of my favorite sources for certified organic hydrosols, carrier oils, essential oils and bulk tea. Hands down - Mountain Rose Herbs.

http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/fwater/fwater.html

This Oregon company provides true hydrosols distilled from the entire plant.

Because their business practices reflect an eco-consciousness throughout from sourcing to packaging to distribution, it's a pleasure to do business with them.

They are one of the best companies I learned about from EDS forums. I've been shopping with them for several years now and can't recommend them highly enough. Smile

I actually found Mountain Rose Herbs about 10 years ago (searching for oils and butters) well before joining EDS. Another great source for just essential oils is Aura Cacia, they are very conscious about the purity, test every single batch for possible contaminates/toxins.
