Yes I do believe they are, best washed in dishwasher using a mesh bag. These are stated as reusable.

Hi summer 2004, I use airless pumps for my vit c, active serum and lotion formulas which are from making costmetics and are very similar in appearance. I have not had any oxidizng issues with the pumps which contain the balls however typically my vit c only lasts about 3 weeks:-) |

| The metal balls in an airless pump are Stainless Steel, not a concern as far as reacting with Vitamin C or causing oxidation. |

A few simple solutions, wrap a stick on label around it or take old gloves and cut a finger off and slip it in. Both have worked well to keep light out and are cheap. |

| The stainless steel shouldn't be an issue (as others have said) but if it still concerns you, I've seen all plastic airless bottles for sale on ebay. |

| thanks, I can sterilize tbe bottle like baby bottle, however it is hard to put in the oven to make is dry. May be it will full of smell of food. |

So I'm guessing that airless pump bottles mean that when you put your product in the bottle, there will be a tiny amount of air in the bottle along with your product. But once sealed, no additional air enters in through the pump, and when you pump out the lotion or product, no additional air enters into the bottle. Is this what the "airless" feature means?
Also, are there any airless pump bottles that can be used with carrier oil formulations? I would like to store and dispense my oils from pump bottles, but many of the airless systems are not recommendation for oils. Anyone have any pump bottle recommendations for oils, especially regarding containers that are 2 - 8 oz in size?

You need yo carefully fill to the top leaving as little air as possible, I immediately pump some product out to get as much air out as possible.
You can use them for oil I have never checked for large sizes, most DIY suppliers sell 15, 30, 50 ml. sizes.

They have 200ml. which on 2 converter apps I have on iPhone comes out to 6.76+ oz. almost 6 1/2 ounces, so far the largest I have seen.

CM: If you are making 30ml for a 30ml pump bottle you will need to pump the empty but closed bottle so that the diaphragm raises to the level of the bottom silver ring or a bit higher. Then fill the bottle to the absolute rim. Then place the pump mechanism. Unless you fill to the rim you will always have an airspace in the bottle.
Or make about 4 ml extra to make up for what is lost in the mixing beakers and what you need to fill the bottle to the rim before placing the pump on it. |
