Yes I do believe they are, best washed in dishwasher using a mesh bag. These are stated as reusable.
Air tight/ Vacuum Bottles 30ml
Elegant reusable bottles for air sensitive ingredients. These bottles are extremely easy to work with, clean and reuse. Plastic with silver cap and bottom. Excellent for use with a Vitamin C serum. Using an airless system both prolongs the life of a vitamin C serum as well as reduces the need for preservatives in other serums.
Price: $2.75

Hi summer 2004, I use airless pumps for my vit c, active serum and lotion formulas which are from making costmetics and are very similar in appearance. I have not had any oxidizng issues with the pumps which contain the balls however typically my vit c only lasts about 3 weeks:-) |

The metal balls in an airless pump are Stainless Steel, not a concern as far as reacting with Vitamin C or causing oxidation. |

In general, more manufacturers are packaging skin care products in airless containers. |

Is it a concern that the bottles are clear or will storing them in a drawer suffice? |

A few simple solutions, wrap a stick on label around it or take old gloves and cut a finger off and slip it in. Both have worked well to keep light out and are cheap. |

That's ingenious! I wouldn't have thought of it in a million years.. Now I have a new use for my latex gloves.. |

The stainless steel shouldn't be an issue (as others have said) but if it still concerns you, I've seen all plastic airless bottles for sale on ebay. |

wow that's amazing!
Also, I e-mailed lotioncrafters and the airless pumps are supposedly only good for one=time use |

So I'm guessing that airless pump bottles mean that when you put your product in the bottle, there will be a tiny amount of air in the bottle along with your product. But once sealed, no additional air enters in through the pump, and when you pump out the lotion or product, no additional air enters into the bottle. Is this what the "airless" feature means?
Also, are there any airless pump bottles that can be used with carrier oil formulations? I would like to store and dispense my oils from pump bottles, but many of the airless systems are not recommendation for oils. Anyone have any pump bottle recommendations for oils, especially regarding containers that are 2 - 8 oz in size?
Thanks so much! |

You need yo carefully fill to the top leaving as little air as possible, I immediately pump some product out to get as much air out as possible.
You can use them for oil I have never checked for large sizes, most DIY suppliers sell 15, 30, 50 ml. sizes.
Here is a supplier that carries a large variety.

They have 200ml. which on 2 converter apps I have on iPhone comes out to 6.76+ oz. almost 6 1/2 ounces, so far the largest I have seen.

CM: If you are making 30ml for a 30ml pump bottle you will need to pump the empty but closed bottle so that the diaphragm raises to the level of the bottom silver ring or a bit higher. Then fill the bottle to the absolute rim. Then place the pump mechanism. Unless you fill to the rim you will always have an airspace in the bottle.
Or make about 4 ml extra to make up for what is lost in the mixing beakers and what you need to fill the bottle to the rim before placing the pump on it. |

I have been using cobalt glass dropper for my Vitamin C Serum and would like to purchase airless pump bottle to replace the glass one.
Is anyone using the airless bottle?
Lotioncrafter is selling 2 types of bottles; it seems to me that metal balls are present in the first one - please correct me if I am wrong.
Also, are both of them reusable?
http://www.lotioncrafter.com/airless-treatment_pump-bottle.html |
I use the one at the link. No metal, works nicely and can be reused. You can see what it looks like filled with a lotion I made on this thread/page;

If you use it for vitamin C serum, just be sure to make it a gellish consistency. (Just not too runny.) |

Kassy, I bought it too.
Yes, this bottle is good for a serum that is not too thin & runny. |
