Hi All,
I'm looking for recommendations for sugar scrubs used for exfoliation (body not face). I prefer the non-greasy type. I had been using the Rosemary Mint Whipped Foaming Sugar Scrubs by Juliet's Room (and loving it), but unfortunately she has discontinued it.
I don't like the sugar scrubs that are so full of oil that your shower stall is treacherous after using it. What I really liked about the whipped or foaming sugar scrubs is that they did the job without leaving you greasy and your floor slippery.
I'd appreciate any recommendations. |

The Bath and Body ones are great. I believe they're called Aroma-therapy. They have great scents too |

Thanks for the recommendation! They don't leave you feeling like you are coated in oil? |

Nope, it leaves skin feeling smooth without any greasy feeling
I believe LUSH makes some good body scrubs too if you want to try those. |

Yes I was going to recommend the LUSH Ocean body scrub. It's salt though, I don't think I've ever used sugar ones!??!
The LUSH exfoliating body bar: Buffy the Backside slayer was so greasy I couldn't GET the oil off my body parts so it turned me off for a couple years on their exfoliating products until I got a sample and eventually the full sized Ocean body scrub. Made my skin soooooooooo smooth and not a trace of oil. Not cheap but good stuff! |

Hmm in that case, I would stick to Bath and Body Works. Not only are those scrubs great but the scent is amazing and they have a wide variety of them too |

why not make your own? That is what I do - mix a good shower gel with sugar. Simple, easy, cheap! |

Alba Botanicals makes an excellent sugar scrub that if "fluffy" in texture (not too grainy) and doesn't leave much of an oily film on your skin afterwards. I love it!

I do this all the time.
When I remember to bring home a bag of limes from Costco I mix sugar with the juice. I make a big batch then put it in small plastic containers and slip them in the freezer.
I am also one of those that do not like oils in my scrubs. |

yes, you can DIY:
Sugar and almond oil (1:1 ratio), mix them, and apply on dry skin, massage a bit and leave on your skin for 5 mins, then wash it off.
or u can try the loccitane almond scrub too, that very good. (if you don't want to make your own) ^_^ |

Thank you everyone! I am going to keep my eyes open for the Alba one. I would love to find something local. I confess that I am not a DIY'er. I LOVED the Whipped Rosemary Mint Sugar Scrub by Juliet's Room. If I could find another sugar scrub with the same fragrance that wasn't oil based I would be in heaven! This was one that had a shea butter base rather than oil. I suspect that they just added cane sugar into either a body butter or lotion. |

This from my middle-eastern bank representative (also a skin care junkie) Just take a SMALL amount of olive oil , add sugar, and rub any part or body. Very relaxing, then bathe or shower. Smooth, smooth, smooth.... If you like fragrance, you could add essential oil. This is one of those wonderful simple less is more recipes that will connect you with females from anytime anywhere - altho they may have used different oils. Honest, you will not feel greasy, just smoooooth. Hope you will try and enjoy. |

The sugar scrub I love the most is by Tree Hut. You can get it at the drugstore or Ulta and it is kind of thick but not oily. I find it is very easy to use and rinse off. I go through tubs and tubs of this stuff. Thank goodness it is only 6 dollars. lol |

I have still been on the hunt for a sugar scrub to replace my discontinued favourite. I recently tried Yummy Skin Sugar Scrub and have been very impressed. Here is the link:
http://yummyskin.com/sugar-scrub.html
The customer service is excellent. I ordered a jar of the Sugar Scrub and the Yummy Essence Premium scrub. The premium scrub is fragranced with only EO's. Both scrubs are great, but I think I prefer the regular sugar scrub. When my jars arrived, one of the lids was broken. I emailed them and they offered to send me a new jar the very next day.
It leaves your skin really soft and not greasy. It also didn't leave the base of my shower greasy. My whole family is now hooked on them. I have left some at the bathroom sinks and everyone has been using it on their hands. We've got the softest fingers in town !!! LOL
I also tried the Giovanni Cool Mint & Lemonade Salt Scrub. It is available from well.ca.

I have been using it on my feet. It is good for feet, but I think it would find the salt a little too hard on the rest of my skin. |

If you have the time I would recommend making your own body scrub. You can then add whatever ingredients you want. Brown sugar, honey, coconut oil, and green tea powder are the main ingredients I use (depending on what I feel like using at the time... sometimes I even use coffee!). |

maybe you would want to stick with using the natural types which is the combination of sugar and honey. You just let it stay for about 15 minutes on your face and then rinse it off with warm water first then put some too. |

Haha ... I second the Giovanni Cool Mint & Lemonade Salt Scrub! The menthol is so cooling and the lemony smell so refreshing for a hot afternoon.
I hate oily bathrooms too, which means I have to clean them more often but sometimes a light coating of oil after all that intensive exfoliation is much appreciated
Salt has the added benefit of detoxing and purifying too! |

I make mine fairly lazily, I grab a handful of sugar and throw it into a bowl. Put in some oil, whatever I have on hand, olive, coconut, almond. Almond is super cheap from my co-op. |

I am going to keep an eye out for this one. I really like the Yummy Skin ones, but they are oilier than what I was looking for. I loved the cream based one I use to be able to buy. Thanks for telling me about it ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |
