From the forum, I was aware that Dr. Yarosh suggested that we might alternate retinoid with an AHA every 6 weeks of use.
I know that m1rox has followed this regime; anybody else?
m1rox, how do you find this recommendation? |

I dont alternate AHA and retinoids but I use both of them. I use PSF pumpkin peel 2-3 times a month and Retin-A once a week.
As it's summer, my skin can tolerate this and I can say that I can go out makeup free these days AND feel confident.
I used to just rely on Retin-A but I couldnt use it every night, as I get peelies no matter how slow I build its usage.
Anyway, to answer your question, I use both of them! |

I don't think alternating every 6 weeks a good idea because it would like starting over with retin-a all over again every 6 weeks. You would never get full results from the retin-a. I do think they complement each other though. |

That doesn't sound like something I'd subscribe to. AHAs do not have anywhere near same impact on skin as tretinoin does, at least not the AHA products intended for daily use. That's why smart derms add AHAs such as glycolics to compliment tretinoin, if possible, not use them interchangeably. |

Thanks for all responses!
I will keep on doing what I am doing now, one evening sleeping with AHA & other evenings sleeping with Retin-A. |

So that's once a week sleeping with AHA and the rest of the week sleeping with Retin-A? If so that sounds like the best method. Just back off a little bit if your skin starts getting dry. I use Vitamin C, Retin-A, AHA and am lucky if I get some peeling. |

Hi Echo,
I have been using Retin-A 0.05% for 10 months; and another 9 months for Taz before Retin-A.
I have noticed that I go well with RA instead of Taz as RA has plumped my skin and even the skin tone.
For AHA, I use it in prior to Lightstim and have found it to be a good combination! |
