Hi all,
I tried to do a search on the forums for my question and couldn't find what I am looking for. First, I'm new here, so hello! Second, I am very confused and my Derm isn't that much help. I have used Obagi for almost 4 weeks and Retin A for almost 6. I am confused as to what I can and can't use along with the regimen.
1. Can I use a Glycolic moisturizer during the day that has SPF 30? I truly hate the Obagi Healthy Protection SPF 35 sunscreen, it makes my face white and amplifies the dry spots like crazy.
2. Can I use an eye cream that isn't Obagi in the AM or PM or both?
3. Can I use the Juice Beauty Green Apple peel once/week while on Obagi?
4. I'd love to know what everyone else uses as far as non-Obagi products along with their Obagi regimen.
Thank you so much, I am just so overwhelmed by this whole skin care thing. FYI, I'm 32, w/ light-medium sensitive and dry skin.

1. You can use a different sunscreen if you like. I would suggest a physical one while you're doing the Nuderm regimen. I've used NIA24 and Burnout. I'm currently using the new Obagi Nuderm Sunshield SPF 50.
2. You can use any eyecream that you like.
3. Your face may be too sensitive for a peel, especially during the first 6 weeks. You can expect redness, tightness, dryness, and usually A LOT of peeling.
4. When I was doing the full protocol, I always had on hand a tube of Aquaphor. Sometimes, areas of your face (especially around your lips and nose) can get overly irritated. Try to stick with Nuderm products and hold off on moisturizers.
What are your skin issues that your'e trying to treat and how long did your derm say you would be on Nuderm. A "typical" treatment period is 18 weeks. |

1) I wouldn't use a glycolic moisturizer with SPF, just a regular sunblock although doesn't have to be Obagi as long as it has adequate UVA/UVB protection.
2) You can use any eye cream you like.
3) If your skin can tolerate it, then yes.
4) Azelaic acid, Skinceutical CE Ferulic and dermaroller (for acne scars). |

Well, mostly trying Obagi Nuderm for its anti-aging benefits and to even out my skin tone and fade some areas of sun spots. To be honest, the spots and slightly uneven skin tone don't matter to me as much as the anti-aging part. I'm trying to hold off on moisturizers, I just don't know what to use during the day underneath my makeup to make it look halfway decent. I'm not peeling very much anymore, after about 4 weeks of using the system. Do I wait 18 weeks to be able to incorporate regular moisturizers? |

Besides the Nuderm products, I wouldn't use anything else prior to make up -- which can be tough to use especially if you're peeling a lot. I used Jane Iredale mineral make-up (and still do) during the complete Nuderm regimen.
The Obagi Nuderm process isn't always "pretty" and I know there were days when I felt like hiding! |
