I've always had a problem with eyeliners smudging. I have one of those creme pot liners from Shiseido but it takes too long plus I prefer to tightline. So for a long time I've been using just eyeshadow and lining my eyes with that which is great except that the colour doesn't stay all day. I rarely line the bottom of my eyes cause it usually smudges and makes me look dead tired.
So a couple of my friends who are make-up fiends told me about Urban Decay's 24 7 liner.
It glides on so smooth, it's unbelievable. I don't like to stretch my lid (that's bad for your eye) but usually if I don't, I can't get any colour on my lids with a pencil. The colour stays on all day however it still smudges on the bottom lid sometimes but not as badly as others. It comes with a ridiculous array of colours. And you're able to smudge a little right after you apply it. After a while, it doesn't smudge. It's not really hard to remove with makeup remover either.
I suggest it. It's $20 for a long pencil but you can prob find a deal where they include it in a kit. |

These liners are some of the best. Before I tried one I was kinda scared by how bright and glitzy they are; figured they would be a no no for a forty something. Then I got a sample in a sephora favorites box of Electric; a seriously bright light blue. A shade I would never have normally bought. Used it with matte neutral shadows and was seriously impressed with how much it made my eyes pop; was at Sephora one day with it on and a makeup artist commented on how good it looked. |

UD 24/7 is a amazing. I got the jackpot set for christmas which includes a bunch of mini pencils and the a full size black pencil (zero). I love the set, UD makes the most beautiful colors.
The drugstore brands have also come out with dupes for the 24/7 and I have tried a lot of them. They include the covergirl liquiline blast, loreal intense liquid pencil, milani liquify eye pencil, and prestige intense eye liner. |

Since I first posted the review not too long ago, I've already used 3/4 of my Bourbon colour and bought two more colours in Rockstar and Underground. I love it!
I just wish these pencils lasted longer. |

I also like to tight-line my eyelids - but when I blink, it transfers down to my under eye area. Will the UD 24/7 stay put? |

I had the same problem too! Yea, it'll stay on The only time I have smudging problems is when I line my bottom eye but I don't know if that may just be because I subconciously touch my eyes. |

I have never done tight lining but I did get a topaz color from stila that I'm planning on trying this with. I also got Urban Decay Naked palette with an eye pencil included - the black on one end and a brown; whiskey on the other and the pencil is nice to use. Better than average for sure. I love the UD palette in general. I've never used this line before and am not a person who buys palettes of makeup but this is a real steal. The colors are wonderful - I've tried about half of them and have for the most part been more than pleasantly surprised by what is there. |

I got the Naked palette as well and love it. I like how smooth it goes on. It actually surprised me because I find most waterproof eyeliners dry, and I feel like I have to scrape them across my skin to get the color on my lid. It stays quite well for a creamy liner. I touch my eyes a lot, so I do get shadows, but that's my own fault. I think if you use the liner and then set it with an eyeshadow powder, the color will stay even longer. |

I agree - these do not work well if you have oily lids. It transfers to the middle of the crease and makes me look like I used liner in the crease!! |

I love the UD 24/7 pencil for most things including tightlining but for the waterline the only thing that will stay put is a gel liner ie Stila Smudgepot |

There used to be nothing like the UD 24/7 pencils but now you can find good quality dupes in drugstores. What I want to try is their new eyeshadow crayons. I've read great reviews- amazing lasting power and no creasing/budging. I love Midnight Cowboy but could never get past the glitter fall out with that UD eyeshadow. With the new Midnight Cowboy eyeshadow crayon I've heard this isn't a problem so I can wear one of my favorite eyeshadows again. |

I have UD 24/7 in Zero and I love this eye pencil. I used to use M.A.C eyeliner in smolder before but later in the day it used to get all smudged off. Even though I feel nothing can beat MAC cosmetics in makeup but UD cosmetics evolved drastically in past 5yrs.
Anyway..I usually use zero for my waterline and it never get messy i don't even have to re-apply the whole day. For my upper lash line I use mac fluid-line first and then use the zero to fix the intensity. I feel this helps the fluid line not to fade away in few hours. |

Hi, What is "tightlining" and "waterline"? I'm looking for a liner for the inside of my rims. |

Waterlining is the same thing as lining your lower inside eye rims. |

Tight lining is pushing the liner into the roots of your lashes and not on the inner rims of your eye's. Inner rims are waterline.
I've never had success using a pencil for tight lining. I use Laura Mercier cake liner, it works great and lasts all day.
I think this a pretty good tutorial on tight lining:

I have light green eyes and I use two of the 24/7 sticks, I have the "flipside" a tealish-blue which is amazing (for extra long stay I put some matching eyeshadow over it (it lasts 12 hours with eyeshadow over it, and about 7-8 without). I also have a purple-ish 1999. I was excited to purchase this one for my light-green eyes, but to my disappointment it isn't as vibrant as I hoped it would be. |

Keliu, the UD will transfer until it dries.
I agree that if you have more oily skin, any liner will smudge on the bottom lashes or transfer eventually. Though UD is good, and other drugstore dupes are good, the best eye liner for oily skin I find is usually a gel liner. My favorite one is the physicians formula gel liner--a definite deal, you get 3 colors for about $10 (cheaper when on sale). Here is the review that inspired me to buy:

wet n wild has a good one too, that is incredibly cheap. I prefer both of them to mac's fluidline gel liner. |

Of all eyeliner I have ever used UD is the only one that caused my eyes to turn red and hurt. Wierd - I am not allergic or responsive to anything. |

sistersweets--it might be something in the formula that you are allergic to probably or the pencil had bacteria on it? fortunately, there are so many other UD dupes that you can choose from. |

Yes this is my favvvvvvvvv pencil. Perfect for the waterline but I still like gel liners for the upper lid so I can wing it out and it lasts a long time. I use MAC fluidline on top and UD on bottom lid. |
