I've been reading a lot about these since I joined EDS. How many milligrams should one take on a daily basis? How long does it take before you start seeing results? Are there any products that should not be used while taking vit c? Mainly I ask this because I just started Vit C and I'm also doing a glycolic peel/serum.
Thanks!!! |

Hi flgirl,
Vitamin C is a very important supplement. It is extremely difficult to take "too much" vitamin C as it is a sort acting nutrient that leaves the body rather quickly.
Here is a great article on Vitamin C dosing from Doctor Linus Pauling a two time Nobel prize winner:

I'd say a gram or more per day in divided doses, not all at once. It's hard to overdose since your body will just pee out any excess. I have no idea how it affects my skin but I never get sick when everyone else is on their deathbeds. |

LOL Not getting sick is definitely a bonus Thats all I thought Oral Vit C helped with until coming here. I thought any skin benefits it provided must be done topically so I may give it a whirl!
Thanks for the info ladies!! |

If you take too much, you'll spend some time in the bathroom ... or so gassy that no one will want to be around you !!!
You normally have to build up your tolerance to vit C. Start gradually and you will get the benefit without any of the discomfort. |
