I bought the Neova DNA Damage Control sunscreen and have been using it only for about 2 weeks, so this review is initial impression. It is what I had hoped Burnout would be. It is water resistant, so you probably will need an oil cleanser to take it off. It goes on thick and white, but once rubbed in this sunscreen leaves no tack, no white after effect. It leaves a matte finish and the skin feels very smooth. This sunscreen is not all physical so it is not for someone looking for that. My main interest in this product is the supposed DNA repair. Time will tell if it does anything for obvious wrinkles. Bottom line for initial impression, best sunscreen I have used so far (and that is saying a lot, as I love Devita and Clarins!).

Here is a little blurb from the website:
"Neova SmartSunscreens
Groundbreaking Repair + Protection
DNA Damage Control™ sunscreens repair tissue at the cellular level – where DNA damage occurs – while protecting the skin from additional UV insults.
"

Ingredients from Neova website:
Active Ingredients: Zinc Oxide 8.0%, Octinoxate 7.5%, Octisalate 3.0%
Inactive Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethyl Hexyl Isononanoate, Micrococcus Lysate, Plankton Extract, L-ergothioneine, Dimethicone, Dimethicone/ PEG-10/15 Crosspolymer, Lauryl PEG-9 Polymethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C), Sodium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Butylene Glycol, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide.

Hi RileyGirl,

Do you mind the presence of Retinyl Palmitate (Vit A)? It is said that Vit A should be present in topical products during the daytime; otherwise, it is carcinogenic.

Thanks for the initial review, Rileygirl. I would be thrilled to find a sunscreen that was both effective and reparative in nature.

I'm really trying to work on the sun damage on my chest and neck. Currently, I'm using CP's and NIA24 sunscreen. No fab results yet.

No, not really, summer2004. I think it is fairly well down on the ingredient list. Besides that, Dr. Fernandez (Environ) thinks it is photoprotective. So, no, not worried as of yet.

Rileygirl,
Have you used any other Neova products? Some of them look pretty good! Thanks!

Not yet, Kims. I am also using the Skinbiology CP's, so I want to give them a chance to work before moving on. On your neck and chest, are you using an AHA with the CP's? I am not sure if you saw what I copied from the Skinbiology forum (on the CP thread) but from the sounds of it, the AHA is a major player in working with the CP's. I just started working on my arms with the Lactic Power 10 and the P&R Sun product.

I'll report back on the Neova sunscreen after a month or so of use and let you know if any miracles have happened as far as visible results!
