I was looking at Dermalogica's Sebum Clearing Mask, and Kate Somerville's Clearing Mask.
They both seem really similar, so i was wondering whether or not any of you guys have tried them, and/or liked them.
Supposedly Kate's has phytic acid to help clear up acne scars, but I am currently using a chemical exfoliant for that reason.
Anyways, its mainly for my oily/acne problems.
I never used to be oily, but i think one of my new products is trying to even out my oil production... so my skin is producing more oil now. nothing to major though
.... and just to check since im here... has anyone tried the Skinceuticals Daily Moisture?
I am almost out of my moisturizer and that one looked interesting |

I've used the Dermalogica mask and didn't really like it. I still have a full tube left that's sitting in my drawers. The mask I'm using now is Queen helene mint julep masque. If you check makeupalley, there's thousands of reviews on it with a pretty good rating. It dries out pimples pretty well. |

If you are willing to consider using natural products, try getting mask that contains tea tree oil, as tea tree oil is known to have anti microbial properties that control acne breakouts.
Or you could also try doing a home-made face mask. You can simply get Fuller's Earth (its a kind of clay) that is in a powder form and mix it with Rose water and add a drop or two of tea tree oil and make a nice paste and apply it as a mask. And then, you can wash it off once you think it is dry. If you have oily skin, this is pretty good. But for some people, it could be too drying. You could always mix Fuller's earth with Jojoba oil alone instead or skip the tea tree oil in the rose water mix.
That really works for me!
BTW, I'm from India, and we usually use a lot of natural products back there! And Fuller's earth mask is extremely popular. It's also known to tone your skin and improve the elasticity and helps keep your skin young at all ages! |

For me what has worked to clear the last bout of breakouts is a Yonka clay mask (the dark clay not white) I think it was called purifying clay mask or something like that. I used it obsessively every morning and then showered it off after ten minutes. I also used their cream for problem/acne skin (I want to say no 13 but I might be wrong, anyway not the PG one, but the one that has a number, they are the only two for acne skin. The whole thing worked, surprisingly, as I was skeptical to begin with. |

any chance youd be willing to swap for it, or possibly sell it for a decent price?
its funny you mention makeupalley, because i just made a little swapping profile, and i was looking for this mask on there haha |

Skinceuticals clarifying mask is good for oily, acne-prone skin. I've used it myself even though I have normal skin and I liked it a lot. |

What I use now is Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask. I feel it's lot better than the ones I've used. I didn't like the smell but eventually got used to it. The ingredients are very basic and natural. |

For Dermalogica I really liked the Clean Start line.
I only sampled the mask in a trial kit a store had but I want to buy it sometime.
I usually use a sulfur mask from Mario Badescu- the drying mask, it works great for me.
PSF skincare has a acne sulfur mask, but I can not use that one-my skin was too sensitive for it.
It is a good product, just not for me.
There is not many sulfur masks I can use, so far only the badescu one is ok for my skin.
I used to use the Serious skincare continuously clear acne sulfur mask for many years.,but lately they seem to have raised the amt of sulfur and now that bothers my skin too
it used to be a great mask for me and a great price too if you get it in a kit.
The Badescu mask is good, but I find overpriced for what you get for such a "plain" mask.
I also really like the Badescu whitening mask, it is not for acne but does help even out scars and skin tone, smells really nice too! |

I really like the Queen Helen Mint Julip mask and had used up one tube and purchased another. (Right now I am having a hard time finding it again.)
I also purchased PSF Sulfer mask. It is in a jar and I liked it, but it dried out rather quickly. I prefer the Queen Helen.
If you are a DIY, the aspirn mask works well for many. Recipe is in the DIY section here. |

I also have a hard time finding it. I'm not sure why they haven't brought it to department stores in Canada yet considering how popular it is in the states. I usually find them in health food stores, but even those stores are scarce where I live. |

I'm pretty sure you can get Queen helene products at Vitacost, and they ship to Canada.
pretty sure I saw it there.
I buy other stuff from vitacost and have never had to pay tax or duty to Canada
*also to keep your masks from drying out in the jar put them in a ziplock bag to trap the humidity.
that works for my masks that are clay until the bottom of the jar. |

I have no break outs but have bought and used both french pink and green clay powder for mixing with water and using as a mask, They did work as an addition to OCM to help my son's acne a few years back. The pink is very gentle yet clarifying to the skin. There are suppliers in various countries if you just google, but here is one site that has information as well as selling the clay....
http://www.soapgoods.com/French-Clay-Pink-p-956.html
Description: French pink clay is a combination of red and white clays. It is considered to be the mildest of all the clays and works well for normal, sensitive and mature skin types. Its unique composition includes Kaolinite, Iron, Illite, Montmorillonite and Calcite.
Appearance: Fine rose/pink colored powder.
Benefits: French Pink Clay can be used to cleanse and detoxify the skin, remove dead skin cells and create and overall refreshed appearance. It can also be used to treat acne and other skin ailments; poor blood and/or lymph circulation and sun damaged skin. It is most widely used in cosmetic manufacturing.
Application: French pink clay can be used in detoxifying body wraps, soap making, face masks, mineral based or cream based cleansers, face or body scrubs, cosmetics and facial powders.
Recipes: Soothing Face Mask Combine 1 oz of clay to 3 tbsp of water, add 1 tsp of jojoba oil and 2 drops of chamomile essential oil to form a paste. Apply to the skin and leave for about 10 minutes and wash off with warm water. Floral water or aloe vera gel juice can be substituted for water.
Foam baths and shampoos Add 5-10% of clays to product. Simply sprinkle the clay in and allow to settle. Always shake before use as the Clay sinks to the bottom.
Caution: Caution should be exercised as clays may stain fabric. |
