I wonder if I am going to get any response to this....
I always wondered about this cos I think sexy means different things to different people and different characteristics appeal to different people. I am just wondering if we can distil all our responses and get some common traits.
Sorry, I haven't thought through what makes a woman sexy yet - I'll be back. Meanwhile, if you care to comment...
Cheers

I think what makes a women sexy is zest for life, a willingness to have fun. When a woman is having fun, laughing etc they just shine. |

To me, sexiness isn't about physical beauty or characteristics. It's about how she carries herself, so here's what I find sexy about women -- no, I'm not a lesbian but I can appreciate a beautiful, sexy woman!
1) Self-confidence; and
2) Ability to laugh and not take herself too seriously.

Yep, more of the same:
-self-confident (although too much can be bad!)
-fun loving
-friendly
There is something else that I can't quite put my finger on sometimes - I think it has something to do with movement. A woman could be all of the things above and if she's a total clutz and drops things etc then to me that's not really sexy. Not quite sure how to describe that, there's more to it than that but I can't really articulate it.... |

Had to get Mr. Winnie's view point on this. Now we do come from a different generation then most of you. This is what he said:
Smile
poise
gentleness
legs (at one time I had great legs ) |

I spent some time pondering about this yesterday.
I agree that part of it is the movement - how the woman carries herself
Another thing is in her eyes - eyes gives much power of suggestion and invitation. A pair of knowing and emotive eyes is very sexy
And yes, Guapagirl, a firm rear helps

So true...self confidence, kindness, genuineness, the ability to laugh at themselves, and a sense of humor.
There's also something sexy about certain women's necklines - I wish I had an elegant, sexy neck. I do know that when my husband comes up from behind and nuzzles mine, even fourteen years of marriage later, it sends little shivers up my spine!

I agree, sexiness is all in the mind.
Some women are not even attractive in a classical sense when you really analyse them, but they carry off sexiness perfectly - it's self-belief.
I think (and many will disagree) that Nigella Lawson is the perfect example. Nearly all men seem to drool over her, but when you look at her features they're not all that special. Looks too similar to her father for my tastes.
But she thinks sexy and moves sexy. |

I noticed that my hubby seemed to take more interest in Nigella Lawson's cookery programmes! Think its all that suggestive finger licking! |

This is funny because I just talked about this with someone not to long ago.
It is being confident and cool. Too many woman are always harping and being emotional about the little things about themselves. They do not realize their smile lights up a room. When woman look someone in the eye and smile and you know its genuine that is sexy.
Being kind of arrogant and cocky sarcastic like a guy is also pretty sexy.
What is not sexy is lying or being crazy insecure. No reason to be. Guys truly are not looking for perfect as much as cool to hang out with and attractive. |

What seems to be the agreement is that sexiness is more what goes on in the woman's mind and how that translates to actions and words rather than physical attributes. I wish there's a book called "Dummy's Guide to Sexiness" - then maybe clueless me will fare better

Lol, this is such a fun thread!
From what I've squeezed out of my male friends:
- Intelligence
- Self-confidence (and humour)
- Natural, understated beauty: grace, healthy hair, healthy skin, expressive eyes, generous smiles...
- Culinary skills (food is still the way...)
- Loves hockey!! Maybe because I'm Canadian.
Most impressive to me was this: they love a girl that has a healthy enjoyment of food. It's so refreshing for them compared to eating with someone that picks nonchalantly at their plate and gets terrorized by fat. |
