Is it true that trimming your ends miniumum every 3 months allows your hair to grow faster?
If you keep cutting it, how will it ever get longer? |

My friend who is a hairdresser said that it doesn't really make it grow faster but helps it maintain it's length and so it seems like your hair grow faster. Trimming your hair will prevent split ends or get rid of any that have popped up. This in turn prevent breakage of the ends. I know that after about 2 months I start to get split ends and the ends of my hair break off when I comb it.
So, I guess to sum up, the hair isn't actually growing faster, rather you do keep length by maintaining healthy hair. |

Trimming the ends has no effect on the roots because hair is dead. Trimming gets rid of split ends and makes the hemlime blunt again if you like that. If growth is important to you, then treat your hair kindly and you won't get splits and breaks very often. My hair is damaged but has not now been cut in eleven months because I totally changed the way I treat it. The Long Hair Community forums are an amazing source of infomration. |
