Hi; so, lately I've been having trouble finding a nice affordable serum that does not contain jojoba oil. (But with a good mix of things like hyaluronic acid and collagen, or vitamin C and niacinamide. Or copper peptides, which I'd like to try) A moisturizing anti-aging serum, or even just a hydrating cream or gel with brightening properties and some antioxidants would be nice. No strong chemical exfoliants. It doesn't have to be fancy.
Practically every one I've come across that seems perfect and within my price range has jojoba oil. It's very frustrating. (Jojoba oil gives me terrible cystic acne, and I'm already covered in acne scars.) Ever since it became ultra-trendy a while back, this has been a constant annoyance! Basically: if it works for everyone else, my skin hates it. (Glycolic acid, Garden of Wisdom products, the clarisonic and manuka honey, for instance.)
For reference, here are the things my skin DOES like: Niacinamide, rosewater and rose extract/rose otto (but not rosehip seed oil--gives me acne) comfrey root, myrrh, royal jelly, tea tree oil, carrot seed oil, avocado oil, azelaic acid, oat beta-glucans, dragon's blood extract, cucumber, rice bran, zinc in any form, witch hazel, and Korean products in general.. for example.
If you have a recommendation that's not a serum or cream, that's fine too! |
