Snow in Vancouver, summertime temps in Toronto and colder than a I don't know what here in Northwestern Ontario! Whats the world coming to??
This morning as I look out my bathroom window at the temp gauge, its so cold there is hardly any mercury left in it, almost -40 C!
Its been this way for about 2 weeks now, talk about cabin fever!
Whats it like where you live? Is it weird too?

Well in England we've been having some serious severe gales. The winds have reached upto 100mph...My next door neighbours tree was uprooted and placed very nicely across the road blocking all access! If it had blown my way my tigger the Tigra might have been no more! |

The rain has almost melted all of vancouver's snow...now we have a flooding problem. Why can't people unclog the drains in front of their homes??? |

I live in NYC, and for the past few weeks the temperature has been in the 40's and 50's and occasinally 60's (farenheit, of course). This is the strangest and warmest winter I can remember!!!! Totally bizarre weather all around.
Don't be too jealous, it's starting to get cold again, but we have been having wild swings where one week is below freezing, the next is like spring. What's going on lately?? |

We're having a norther down here and the temps have dropped down to 70F / 21C tonight. Brrrr. We were having dinner at an outdoor restaurant on the north side of the island tonight and I was cold with a heavy sweater on.
I don't think this is strange for this time of year. I hope it's warmer next month when my parents come down from Vancouver.

Eat your heart out! In TX, I've got sunny and 75 degrees F...it's still getting pretty cold at night, but it warms up nicely during the day. I even had to go dig some of my summer clothes out of storage because it's been too warm to wear sweaters and long pants. |

Liz, you call 21 C cold???? Thats our normal highs in the summer!!! Geeze, I wish! Carekate, I heard that somewhere it snowed in Texas and they were selling snowballs on e-bay! Don't know if its true or not, and in Hawaii it also snowed and people were shoveling it up into the back of their trucks to take home and freeze ! Thats weird weather!
Oh, and by the way, entirely off topic but I was watching Jay Leno the other night, and someone on e-bay was selling a nutri-grain cereal piece that looked like ET, you know the extra-terrestrial (sp?)...anyhow Jay asked the audience if they though it sold and believe it or not it did for around $800.00 , gosh... I gotta put some stuff on e-bay!!!

Actually, it did snow in south TX (along the coast) on Christmas Eve -- but two days later it was back in the 70s again!! Wintertime in TX is always a wild and wooly affair...it can be 80 degrees in the morning and by that afternoon the temp can drop as much as 50 degrees!! |

It's all relative right? I grew up near Vancouver and was a skier from the age of 3. I moved to the Bahamas at 23, then Dubai, Florida, Mexico and now Roatan. After so many years of living in a warm climate I get so cold when I visit my family in Canada I can only go in the summer.
When I was a kid we'd vacation in Palm Desert, CA in the winter. My sister and I would be sunning and swimming while the gardeners would be working in parkas!
Sorry Lianne my parents left Vancouver on Friday for Los Angeles, they'll be flying down here from there. If they have any empty room in their suitcases I'll have a list of stuff for them to bring down - no room for stowaways!

Liz,
that's too bad. I'd rather have products than some funny girl showing up on my door!
What do you do for work that you move around so much? I'd love to have that type of flexibility in a job! |

Hi Chimera! southern Connecticut here. Looks like NYC & Connecticut are going to have snow on Saturday and Sunday. Bummer, I was supposed to go into NYC to meet my husband when he gets out from work on Saturday and of course do a little skincare shopping at SEPHORA (on 5th Avenue, between East 48th & 49th Streets).
Oh well, there is always online shopping, but not the same! |

Mysty -- I've heard!!!! I'm so upset. I even heard them refer to it on the radio as a "Snow Event". What the hell is that?
You should take the train down and go shopping anyway. NYC is beautiful when blanketed in snow, and Rockerfeller Center is nearby, you can go iceskating! Snow is never an excuse not to shop!!! |

The wind has died off and now the forecast is for the low 80's this weekend, maybe we'll go scuba diving.
Lianne, my husband and I (and our kitty) crew a private yacht. This is where we live now. http://freefall2.smugmug.com/gallery/299842/1/11858813

Where in cozumel did you see the 'big cat'? I was there in oct. and absolutely loved it. I'll have to add that spot to my list for next time! I just did a day of shopping in the port and sunning/snorkelling in chakanab park |

Lianne: The big cat was an orphaned ocelot our friends in Cozumel raised. It was lovely and behaved like a regular kitty until it was about 2 then it attacked my husband and then our friend's wife. It was relocated to a wild animal park on the mainland.
MsJam: I don't have a problem with non-poisonous snakes. I'm much more aprehensive about spiders and have to check our jeep for tarantulas every time I get in.
