Hello All,
I am in the market for a new mascara. I used to use Cover Girl and Maybelline but they seem to have changed their formulations and now they weigh my lashes down and make them feel heavy and gloopy. The mascara also does not come off--at all. I want feathery, glossy lashes.
Anyone have a new favorite they care to share?

I love DiorShow waterproof. Tried Armani--way too heavy for my lashes. Loreal may be one to try ~they are part of the same company as Lancôme. |

I went on a mascara buying binge recently as I realized that I wasn't totally satisfied with any that I had that were useable. After visiting Makeup Alley Review I went out and bout thos most highly recommended for my needs and got one great daytime and one good nighttime one, both drugstore brands.
For day I LOVE L'Oreal voluminous million lashes. There are a few similarly named ones. Doesn't clump, great application brush, and in spite of not being waterproof seems to stay where it should until you remove it with soap and water. Maybe not if you re swimming, though!
For night Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Volume express - this one is a tiny bit clumpy, just clean it up with an old brush if you need to, but the brush actually gives the lashes a pleasing and glamorous natural sweep at the corners. Cannot rate it as high as the other because (1) tiny clumps and (2) it does flake a bit, so check it when you go to the washroom during the evening. |

I tend to feel 'overdone' with a lot of mascaras, the build up is too thick for me, and my contact lenses dont like it.
Tinting my eyelashes and using ardells lash conditioner does a nice job of making lashes pretty and natural looking..idk if that appeals to you, ava.
I bought 100 hour lash tint in dark blue, on the recommend of carekate back in the day. Its good! |

My fav is Tarte's Lights Camera Lashes. If I use anything else, or at lease not all natural, my lashes fall out and break off. QVC sells a 2 pack for $28 so that's a good deal for me. And if it gets dry, I just add a little bit of water. It makes my lashes long & volumizes them. |

Thanks to everybody for their recs! I went to Ulta and the salesperson tried to sell me hard on Benefit and Tarte, but honestly, I've tried all the pricey mascaras and none of them perform twice as good as the drugstore ones! So I bought L'Oréal Voluminous Million lashes, on mismis's recommendation. When compared eye to eye with the Benefit, there was literally no difference. I'll report back on things like longevity, wearability, etc soon!
Thanks for all your input!
And re: eyelash tinting, I have fairly thin eyelashes so I need the volumizing effect of mascara. I actually just sometimes wear eyeshadow unless I'm trying to open my eyes via my lashes. I hope that makes sense--I use mascara for a very specific effect.
