I am a pretty much a DIYer. Not too many gadgets (clarasonic) either. But I was curious, for those for us that are mostly DIYer, are there any prepared products you have bought that you just can't live without?

I'm sure we're all going to say sunscreen lol, with my sunscreen of choice being kimberly sayer.

aside from that, I guess I'll say Retin A... though I don't use it daily

I would say L-Ascorbic acid for DIY Vitamin C Serum. Making my own ensures that I have the freshness of Vitamin C when applied to the skin for sure...

Oooh, I guess I worded my topic wrong. I guess I should have said "any "prepared" item you can't live without". My bad Smile

It was my mistake UmEnis Smile In this case, I would say HA Serum that I mix with my DIY Vitamin C Serum.... This is an ingredient that I buy "prepared" already, though you can buy powdered form of HA.

I try to make a few things now due to this fab DIY board. But like you, sunscreen, retina-A I buy and also my copper peptide serums I actually buy too.

Oh yeah and I buy my argan oil...actually come to think of it, I don't make as much now Embarassed

I DIY a few things (vit c serum, HA and peptide serum, oil mix), but I continue to buy Marie Veronique tinted face sunscreen, Retin A, and the occasional moisturizer that sounds like it might do something (most don't...).

I always end up buying again a Piabeli cream to use around my eyes, and an AHA based cream from Neostrata for the rest of the face and decollete.
As to sunscreen I vary, and sometimes I've actually recently done without,... wondering if there is too much fuss about it....
In the DIY area I use oils and vit. C serum, not much more really.

Makeup and Retin A are the only 2 things that I do not DIY. Well, and body soap...because that's too hard Embarassed

I make my own:
1) cleanser: Easy Rinse OCM http://skinessentialactives.blogspot.tw/2012/06/oil-cleansing-method-emulsified-ocm.html
2) Lactic Acid Peel http://www.skincare.boards.net/index.cgi?action=display&board=diy&thread=687&page=1
3) HA Serum http://skinessentialactives.blogspot.fr/2011/12/hyaluronic-acid-1-serum.html
4) Post-dermarolling serum with oils + oil-soluble actives
5) Body lotions

Shampoo, deodorant and toothpaste. I'm a hard core DIYer, lol.

EDIT: And I use baby shampoo anytime I need something sudsy besides shampoo.

(Because I can't really find surfactants anywhere cheap enough to justify making bubbly stuff myself.)

Thanks for the OCM cleanser link. Every winter I toy with OCM because my face is dry and always end up going back to my shea black soap because i start to look less than fresh... plus I worry if my actives can get through...
