Try using a corrector first then concealer. Bobbi Brown makes a nice corrector. |

Have you tried the Joe Blasco Ultrabase creme foundation that comes in a little round pot? It's great as a concealer for areas rather than as a whole face foundation. |

I've tried out a few new ones lately (new to me), and quite like Becca. Comes in a small compact with a mirror in the lid (my preferred packaging for concealers),and the pan is split in two, one side for medium cover and the other for extra cover - nice to have the two options to play around with. Has a lot of colour choices, over 30 shades, although so many choices made it hard for me to choose. I've got the meringue shade. Only downside is it's on the pricy side.. listed on the US Becca website at $US38, but I got it for around $30.

I've also recently purchased the Bobbi Brown tinted eye brightener, and while I like the actual product, wouldn't recommend it due to the crappy packaging. It's one of those twist-type dispensers with a brush top, and when twisted, either nothing comes out or it comes out in great globs, resulting in significant wastage. As it only contains a measly 1.5 ml for US38, it's not a good buy, especially with the poorly designed container.
I was also lucky to get one of the Juice Beauty concealers as a forum gift. It's a nice product (thank you EDS!), and I like using it around my eyes to lighten them up, but I doubt it has enough coverage for "major issues". |

Have you tried a tinted moisturizer and then a concealer? Laura Mercier has great products for both (moisturizer and concealer). Sephora has a great LM starter kit that has everything (primer, tinted moisturizer, concealer and setting powder). |

I second Amazing Cosmetics. The coverage is amazing.
Or Bobbi Brown concealer in a pot. With powder on top. |

I think a concealer wheel is a must have for every girls makeup draw. They generally come with four different concealers in shades that will help address the issues you are trying to solve. Physicians Formula makes a good one, then to keep the concealer in place you can use a long lasting foundation over the top, Loreal has a great one for this, it's called Infalliable. |

I tried to cover some red spots after I had laser done on my nose area for spider veins and I used a giorgio armani concealer. Its probably the best Ive tried.I think its called high precision retouch or something like that. Hope that helps. |

That is good to know! I find the one I use works just as well for that spot also. |

I'm using MAC for my concealer. Apart from giving full coverage, I like that they have a tone that suits my skin color. |

The ultimate best concealer I have found thus far hands down is not really intended as a straight up concealer, it's actually marketed as a foundation. Estee Lauders Maximum Cover Camouflage Makeup for Face and Body is the bomb for myself and will cover anything on my face I throw at it... brown, red, yellow, purple whatever. I don't use it as a foundation and merely use it as a spot concealer (In my opinion it would be WAY to much coverage for my face used solely as a foundation)
It comes is a 30g/1oz tube with pointed nozzle for around $30. I bought mine about a year ago and STILL have nearly 3/4 of a tube. I will probaly have to buy another tube before this one will even be done (just for freshness purposes) so it's super cost effective. It blends well without "looking" like a concealer which I have found to be the case with most actual concealers I have tried and is one of the reasons why I love this stuff. It's blendable, buildable with kick ass coverage. |

Well the undereye one has good coverage but they are too creamy and will settle into lines like goop.
Now the face concealer in the compact with the mirror is quite good and I've repurchased it several times but I'm not sure if it's acceptable for really serious issues like hyperpigmentation like the OP needs it for. She can test it though and see for herself, it's worth trying. It's a drier formula and stays on well. It works good for me and is virtually undetectable. It comes with two colors (and a few options) so you can blend it perfectly for your coloring. |

I've been thinking about it more now and I think its probably one of the better options for hyperpigmentation because of the forumulation and it really does cover well. I just don't have serious hyperpigmentation so I cannot say for sure. Seriously look into it though!!
I used it in front of my friend once and she was like "WOW" I said "what" and she's like "that just totally covered up what you put it on, whatever it was, is just gone!" LOL I think it was just a pimple though but it does work well |

I use Max Factor Erace though it's off the U.S. market and has to be ordered online. Clea de Peau is the best high end with LM a close 2nd. |

Make Up For Ever HD is something you can try as well. Vichy Dermablend has also gotten some attention lately - just youtube "Zombie boy dermablend" |

to cover up major marks you need a product with a lot of pigment..that is the trick. I suggest going to a professional stage make up store. They'll have concealers and foundations with great coverage. You could also look at Make up Artists Choice online... even write the owner and ask her opinion..she will answer you.
As for a drugstore find for under eye circles..I am loving Maybelline's new under eye concealer. it has a soft sponge applicator...and the coverage is awesome. |

you know, I can't say much..except..I really have been looking for something to cover what I see as my dark circles. Maybe most outsiders would not notice them. But, I sure do.
So on a a fluke..I purchased this concealer because it was under $10. The coverage is amazing...and I think..very excellent. |

Yesterday I was wishing they'd invent a concealer that sinks into skin, at least for the day. I've currently got 2 dark hyperpigmentation spots on my cheek (1 from a zit, one from a stupid stupid stupid! tca experiment). I can lay on the concealer and powder, but no matter what I do it always re-appears within a couple of hours on my oily-prone skin. So frustrating!
Its probably just a matter of time before they come up with something brilliant that conceals and stays put. |
