I used to think that FDA approval means that the product/device works and gives the results it promises but recently I have realized that FDA approval only means that the product/device is safe to use... Am I correct? If so, what a rip off! The manufacturers sure do use FDA approval as a guarantee to produce intended results via their manipulative advertisements...... |

Well, you could always check the FDA website. The cosmetic industry is not government regulated, so we are all taking big risks with what we put or use on our skin.
I often wonder what chemical stew is in our moisturizers. Heres a good article. Extracted partially from Carleys Clear and Smooth newsletter.
-------------------------------------------
We are happy to report that ALL of our products are manufactured in the USA. All of our products are Artisan made.
ABC is currently running a series (Made In America) about products made in the USA. They found that a surprising amount of products weren't made in America.
What do "Artisan made" products mean?
Almost all skin care products today are manufactured in large factories. Always located next to train tracks where tankers unload chemicals to make their mystery skin care products. When I say mystery, what I mean is these products contain so many secret ingredients that almost no one knows exactly what is in them. Each unpronouncable ingredient is a designer chemical from some chemical company. Many times these so called ingredients are actually dozens or even hundreds of secret ingredients. Sure they will have Label Candy ingredients. Extracts used to sell the products but actually are in such tiny percentages that they do nothing. |

I really didnt mean creams/serums ( and yes they have so much crapola in em!), but what about Theramge which is FDA approved and like as well as many other in-home beauty devices which are FDA approved....? These are approved by FDA for safety only and not the results, I use to think about FDA approvals otherwise..... so naive! |
