Hi I have read about this ingredient as being a powerful antioxident I'm currently using retin a and vit c and would like to use this in some way I found a u.k site that sells this in a powder form but I'm not sure what to mix it with and what it will actually do that the other products I'm using don't do.
thanks |

I just happen to have bought CoQ10 myself to use in an oily serum.
It's not soluble in water, you will need to put it in oil or cream. From what I have read on Skin Actives, it makes a very good extra to add to your skin care. It occurs naturally in your skin, but less and less as we age.
I think that not all antioxidants work alike. That's why you will often find several antioxidants combined in products. |

I haven't made it yet, but I think I will combine it with rosehip seed oil, avocado oil and buckthorn oil, and add some vit. A. I make my oily serum straight in the dropper bottle, that's 30 ml and I think I will add something like 60 mg, maybe 90, and see how it goes. I have only very recently started DIY and am browsing Skin Actives and Bulk Actives to discover ingredients, usage and advised dosage. It's fun and works better for me than the Roc skincare I used to use. |

I use Q10 encapsulated in liposomes rather than the powder...used the powder initially and this is easier on my skin and to mix:-) Purchased at makingcosmetic.com. |

I like CoQ10 but have never really had any amazing results from it. I think of it more as a preventative. Also it is not the best antioxidant...
I believe there were studies done that showed Coffee Berry as a better antioxidant. However even then there is not only one antioxidant that will benefit your skin, there are many antioxidants that act in different mechanisms and that is why it's better to use a few.
Try incorporating a serum that contains a few antioxidants. |
