I have been doing OCM for the last week and I am really loving the way my skin is beginning to look. For the record - I've got super super oily skin. I tried it before, a couple of years ago, and didn't have much luck. But now I've found the perfect combo for me (1 tsp castor oil 1/2 tsp jojoba and 1/2 tsp grapeseed oil) I've had plugs come out, my tone is more even, and I've even noticed my face isn't getting as oily during the day.
But now I want to do something about my rosacea and some broken capillaries that I have around my nose and on my cheeks. I have searched around and I'm really not sure if I need to use a carrier oil or essential oil. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I could add to my OCM mix that would help?
Thanks in advance for your advice |

Hey Tammy,
Just was looking through the forum and noticed nobody had answered your question. Feverfew is supposed to be good for calming redness, and I personally sometimes add helichrysum to my ocm. I don't have rosacea, but sometimes my nose and n/l lines get red. I assume it's allergies, because if I try to cover it up, my nose runs. (I need to find concealer I'm not allergic to, but that's another post!)
Regardless, redness is the issue, and those work for me. (But don't use feverfew if you are highly asthmatic or allergic to chamomile.) HTH! |

Lavender Oil is supposed to help - but I haven't tried it myself.

I wouldn't put it into the OCM mix though. Maybe you could try applying it directly to the skin - do a patch test first though. |

When I went to my local healthfood store...I was going to buy the chamomille..but the scent was sooo strong...I knew there was no way I could stand it being on my face....so after a quick internet search from my phone..I seen a recommendation for rose hip oil...so I tried the tester on the back of my hand and noticed how quickly it was absorbed and no scent...so I bought it and put 10 drops in my OCM mixture and I can definately notice a reduction in my rosacea...
But I wonder...would putting the rose hip oil directly on my face either before or after cleansing be the better way to utilize it? Anyone have any thoughts on this.... |

Why dont you add a few drops of tea tree oil which is superb in germs killing and might help to combat yr rosacea.
I myself prefer lemon essential oil just for its refreshing smell.
Now, instead of OCM, I DIY my cleansing oil which i use also as make up remover, or to rub onto the skin of my neck and back before shower. Now those little bumps on those area almost completely gone. The key is i have to make sure i am thoroughly cleaned without leaving any oil residue that might cause breakouts on some people eg. Me who have oily skin. |

I think it's a waste to put the Rosehip Oil in the OCM mix. Just apply it as a moisturiser after you have cleansed. I use it everyday, it's an excellent oil. |

Keliu, does the rosehip oil help broken capillaries? If not, what does? I trust your knowledge here! |

I am by no means an expert on oils! But a quick Google search led me to the info on Lavender Oil which I posted above. Rosacea seems like a difficult condition to deal with. Have you tried looking at some of the Rosacea forums that are on the web?
Here's some more information. Rosehip Oil is included in their recommendations:

coconut oil is lighter than olive oil. It can absorb easily. But I don't know it can add for OCM or not. I only use olive oil and castor oil.

Coconut oil is extremely comedogenic and should not be applied to porous skin areas such as the face and back. Always look up the comedogenicity on an oil before using it.
Vegetable oils will not help telangiectasias. Telangiectasiasare are visible blood vessels in the dermis.
Massaging of the skin might cause additional telangiectasias (because of pressure applied), so be careful. |
