I read up on this product last night. It just won a place as one of Allure magazine's top 10 beauty breakthroughs of the year.

It sounds a bit like that plasma rejuvenation process.

It seems your dermatologist removes a bit of neck skin - and sends it off to a lab where they turn it into frozen vials of lots of your fibroblasts? which you can then have injected back into your own skin again - in areas where you want to see lots of plumping - like lips or undereyes or cheeks.

Unlike fillers, you don't see results immediately. It works more like a volumizer - after injection, the collagen and other tissue components regenerate themselves and plump you up over time -like Sculptra I think, but perhaps it has a more natural appearance? I don't know - that's all I have so far.

There was also another product discovery - a plant that is alleged to do the same thing Retin A does - but no prescription necessary and much less inflammation.

That new handheld laser was also mentioned - PaloVia? from the company that won't release clinical study results Sad

Anyway....looks like new stuff ahead?

Anyone else hear about these?

You can read the Allure article here:

http://www.allure.com/beauty-products/best-of-beauty/2011/best-of-beauty-big-breakthroughs#slide=1

I think the plant-based discovery was item #8, Origins Plantscription Anti-aging Serum (containing African Anogeissus bark extract).

You should read the Prescribing Information file which includes the clinical trials and adverse reactions:

the safety and efficacy of LAVIV™ for areas other than the nasolabial folds have not been established.

The efficacy of LAVIV™ beyond six months has not been established.
