Anyone had Botox & switched to Dysport, or vice versa? Reason?
Anyone personally know what the difference is? |

I think someone else may have asked this question as well so you might like to check the responses they have gotten, but I'll just copy and paste my answer on the other thread:
I have had both. I actually preferred the Botox although having said that, the doctor claimed the Dysport lasts longer, kicks in quicker, and is cheaper (well thats always a good thing). I think there is a reason it's cheaper though and that's because it dosent last anywhere near as long as botox. |

I've tried both. I do like the more instant effect of Dysport, and they often run a special that gives a $50 rebate. It's been over a year since I've had botox, so I can't recall which lasted longer. I will definitely have to pay attention next time, but I'm glad you brought this up... |

I've had both, injected by the same derm. Botox lasts me around 4 months, Dysport less than 2. Haven't done Dysport again. |

Oops forgot to mention I had Dysport to firm the lip area and it didnt do much compared to botox. I'm starting to think the general consensus is towards botox. |

I've had the Botox 3 times before & it worked fine. This last time it lasted close to 6 months, so it seems to be working good. I guess since it's not broke I won't try to fix it. Although I did have a slight headache for a couple of weeks off & on from it. |

That was the same with me, did you find the headache appeared soon after the injections? |

Yes, it did. I knew it was from that, because I had a slight one for a day or 2 with a previous one. But this one came & went longer. It wasn't horrible, but it was there. Tylenol took care of most of it. |

The more you use Botox, does each period of time between shots last longer? |

It has for me, the last I had was in May, & I'm just now starting to look like I could use a bit more. I'll probably go within the month. First time I had it, it lasted for close to 4 months. |

I have not had botox for over 2 years. I went longer and longer in between for my 11's. I may go back sometime in the next year but I have basically retrained the use of that muscle. |
