Anyone had Botox & switched to Dysport, or vice versa? Reason?
Anyone personally know what the difference is?

I'm no expert but botox and dysport are the same product, botulinum toxin I think dysport takes affect more quickly within 1-2 days it is supposed to be a bit cheaper buts lasts as long as botox

I believe where I go, they charge the same & that most patients ask for Botox when giving a choice. Botox I've had in the past has lasted nearly 6 months, so I 'll stick to that.

I have had both. I actually preferred the Botox although having said that, the doctor claimed the Dysport lasts longer, kicks in quicker, and is cheaper (well thats always a good thing). I think there is a reason it's cheaper though and that's because it dosent last anywhere near as long as botox.

I have been getting Botox for the past 15yrs., usually paying anywhere from $6-700, every 6 months (that's all I can afford). I recently found a "spa" that had a special of only *$3.50* per unit for Dysport. Naturally, I jumped on it and am SOOOO glad I did!! It cost me ONLY $175 for my crow's feet and forehead lines (I skipped between my brows) and after only 2 days, it's already smoothing out my forehead lines. Plus, the injector (a nurse) did a beautiful job, NO red bumps at the injection sites, like the last couple of times, when I had my old, rip-off doctor do it, (who sent me a $25 off coupon, for my birthday PFFFFTTTT!!!). I am definitely sticking with Dysport!! In the past, when I inquired at other places about it, I was always discouraged and told that it took twice as much, compared to Botox, so the price would be the same. NOT TRUE!!! Mad

My dermatologist charges the same price for Dysport, Botox and Xeomin. I've tried them all and they are all the same. Just get whichever one is cheaper whenever they run a special. I've learned from experience that the effectiveness depends on the skill of the injector so when you find someone you like, stick with her.

I pay $12 unit and when they have a sale it's $10. I wish prices would come down faster because there seems to be plenty of competition.

Allergan, the makers of Botox, did a price increase of 3% as of Jan 2nd so I wouldn't expect prices to drop much.

For me dysport. Botox didn't work for me. Apparently my dr said I wasn't the only one to say that about Botox. 1-2 out of her 10 patients complained about the same thing. Just didn't work, so I've stuck with dysport .

Dionie, I am also resistant to Botox, so I am glad to hear this worked for you. I may have to try it!
