I'd like to add a BHA toner to my skincare regimen, and would like to do it DIY. I was thinking of doing it with aspirin, witch hazel and Skin Gel (you can find it at Vitacost and Lucky Vitamin), but don't know if I'm missing some negative interaction with the ingredients, or what percentage of each thing to use. A little help, please?
Skin Gel ingredients: 99% certified organic whole leaf aloe vera juice concentrate #103857, seaweed-thickening agent, palmitate (vitamin A), Tocopherol (vitamin E), azulene (chamomile extract), allantoin (extract from comfrey), ascorbic acid (vitamin C), citric acid, potassium sorbate. no water added. |

aspirin doesn't work the same way as BHA. It's a precursor to BHA so if you use aspirin, you may get similar results, but BHA will always be better |

If you adulterate a commercial product you will dilute the preservatives, which could leave you open to microbial contamination. |
