I got a sample of Dermalogica Soothing Eye make-up remover and I used it to try and remove eyeshadow and eyeliner.
I was hoping it would clean all the make-up but it didnt. I used a very generous amount and even tho the eyeshadow was gone, the eyeliner was still there and no matter how much and how hard I rubbed it still stayed on.
In the end I used my old eye make-up remover ALMAY and with one gentle wipe the whole eyeliner was gone.
Dermatologica was pretty gentle on my eyes, no irritation. That was nice about it. However it didnt remove the liner at all...

awww that's a pity, thanks for the review! Was your mascara waterproof or just normal stuff? |

That's a bummer, after all our encouragement! I wear liquid eyeliner quite a lot and 2-3 coats of mascara, lots of eyeshadow ( whoa too much probably ) but I dont have any trouble removing them with the Dermalogica one.
Just as well you got a sample then... does the Almay one have oil in it? I thought it was 2 phase? That would explain the instant liner removal. I personally just cant use any of those that have 2 layers or are oil based because my eyes go instantly blurry and watery, not worth it for me. That's why I love the Derm one so much. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Hi Muzzie,
It was the 2phase one, and I think it does have oil in it.
I never had any irritation from it, but I would always use in on a Q-tip when removing make-up close to the edge of the eye

I never got into the dermalogica eye makeup remover either. Didn't like the gel consistancy. But I got a whole bottle of it so needed to use it up. found it better if I actually dampened a cotton pad with water and then applied gel to pad..seemed to sort of emulsify it.
Best cheapy is L'oreal 2 phase. |

I had the same experiance with this remover. I too had high hopes for it. I'll stick with my Trish McEvoy gentle eye makeup remover. |

It's interesting how even eye makeup removers work differently for different people. I have read so many raves for the L'Oreal remover and it didn't do much for me. Go firgure! |
