I am a man and I often have seborrheic dermatisis on my face. Unfortunately any cream around my eyes and even above the beard, triggers some kind of inflammation in my body, like achy joints. And if I don't put anything around my eyes, after some time, I get flaky dry skin around eyes that would not go easily and I would have to use some creams around my eyes for a while to clear it up.
When I put some cream around my eyes, they are not red or itchy, but the skin around eyes is slightly swollen and the worst think is the inflammation that usually start out about one hour after I apply the cream. So, I don't know what I should do and what I am allergic to. And I have tried many many creams even those for the most sensitive skin.
Anyone got some advice for me?

| I have never been to see a dermatologist for that since I don't really trust them. Maybe I should? |

| Is there any product that can be used on your face without problems? If yes, I would try a little under the eyes. |

Oh yes, I used to use a cleaning gel, but I figured out it should not be used around eyes.
I went to a dermatologist and she said I probably have Demodex that has developed on my eyelids on irritated skin over time.
I am now using special wipes to clean eyelids and eye contour instead of gel and it's much better.

| artcool - how does your face respond to oils? I have dry skin and I love using oils on my face because they moisturise without weighing down the skin and there are many different types. Some oils are meant to be anti inflamatory and soothing to the skin so they might help? |

Great suggestion ! I read it in your mind just before you replied to me 
Actually, I started to use oils like a couple of weeks ago. I started with Argan oil, and I liked it. For a few days, i felt my skin too greasy especially around my nose where some irritation has started out but i think now it's ok. Glad I kept using it. It's great as an after shave ! But these last days, I found out about raspberry oil which I also use from time to time as it has more linoleic acid and also supposedly has natural SPF.
If you have any suggestion for an oily and sensitive skin like mine, I am willing to try it.
They say that there is more nutrients in oils than creams since they are not heated and everything is natural in it. Is it true you think? Wonder why no more people are using it. |

That's right. I am a guy so I don't use mascara. The dermatologist wasn't sure at 100% since she said I can make a test where they extract a couple of eyelashes and check them out with microscope. But I went for the treatment right ahead since I was scared of having some mites around my eyes! Actually, they say that 30 to 50% of people have it, mostly with no irritation.
The eyelid wipes are refreshing and I decided to keep using them forever. They just clean using a light antibacterial solution and a bit moisturizing. |

Right, but I gave up trying to figure out to what component I am allergic to. Don't know if they can test the skin allergy in some lab.
I am trying oils for the moment but nothing around the eyes (from the base of my nose to my upper eyebrow), just cleaning it with a special wipe. |

I had seborrheic dermatisis and what helped me, as I found out by chance, was niacinamide applied topically.
As for the eye cream, if something is causing you problem, just stop using it. It's not a big deal.
